Squeaked one out yesterday. Missed a couple including one today.Nice. I was wondering if anyone had still been grouse hunting since no one posted since Nov 11.
Yeah made it out one last time first week of December.
Was a great day with the 11 yr old GSP
Not very good pics but you get the idea
I love the variety of conversation on this site, but posts like this represent the best of the best of content that this site was intended for. Love reading these honest and professionally written reviews that aren’t tainted by sponsorship.
x2!
Shooting lead through a full choke is ok.
I would be hesitant shooting steel through that 1951 fixed full choke barrel.
Steel wasn’t a thing back in 1951. I’ve seen barrels split because of this. not saying it’s a 100% guarantee something will happen, just saying I’ve seen it happen. Never with lead, steel was the problem.
Newer screw in full chokes, some can handle steel, others will say “No steel right on the choke tube right on the choke.
Your gun, your choice.
The “bone in” ribeye at the Texas Roadhouse is fantastic.
I highly recommend it
If necessary
we have used the infrared heat lamps hanging down over their beds. Has always worked well for our Sporting dogs
The answer depends on the wire size going to/from the fuse panel. Likely it is large enough to handle the load but you should confirm. On my boats, I typically bypass the factory fuse panel for the electronics and run dedicated 10 awg (or larger) wire from the main breaker to a seperate fuse panel.
Thalweg87 has been a great resource for me on wiring and electronics with my Ranger.
Whatever he recommends, I would go with.
Couple more pics from this fall. Pretty special deal shooting a limit over my 11 year old
That’s awesome!
Sent you a pm a few days ago too
What’s your guys’ take on Grouse hunting during deer opener weekend or even the 2nd week after?
Curious to responses on this
I think BearCat is a fan of Sixgill. Maybe he’ll chime in whether he has or not

did this interfere with the rods in the rod carrier? Not if you mounted them like a “c” instead of a “u”.
Does that make sense?
What I did is I took a dowel the diameter of the rod holder hole and mounted about a 14″ high dowel installed in each of the outside rod holders which still gave me 3 (I think) rod holders inside of those dowels to hold rods. Then I mounted the Kohler ATV gun holders on each dowel mounting it like I mentioned above. A “C” instead of a “u”
Hope that helps. worked well for years for me

I put a kohler gun mount on each side of the back of the glide lite and placed the auger across the 2 gun mounts. Helped alot with balance
Just got back from a 2 week trip in Saskatchewan.
Lots of miles scouting and knocking on doors to get permission, but paid off to have some good hunts.
The Sportsman’s Rack in Rochester has a lot of used hunting clothing and gear at some great prices.
I check the remember me box on sign in, no problems.
Same here
1 click and I’m logged in.
No big deal
So why tell about it here? I would not say anything and just keep fishing in the boring spot and keep it all to myself.
It’s actually quite refreshing to read an honest and actual report, and someone sharing their experience.
Used to be a lot more of that on here.
Yeah I run an extension cord from my Predator 2000 generator in the back of my pickup to the on board charger in the boat. works like a charm.
I’m sure the hags on the view will will have it all straightened out by Monday……..
Glad I’m not the only one that feels the exact same way about those “bi…es”.
Reports are saying the Director of Secret Service denied requests for additional security and additional SS agents to be present at this event.
I think it was absolutely hilarious!
Great back flip by the kid and when he got tazed he did a face plant and appeared to lose all bodily control. I LMAO every time I watch it. And if you saw the picture when he got tazed in the back and the look of pain on his face, that was priceless.
Hey c’mon you guys, lighten up. Even the judge seemed entertained by it.
No harm, no foul. (Pun intended)
Good to see your back on and posting again John!
May you bounce back quickly young fella!
I have a 619 Ranger Fisherman. Found the same issue at first. Play with the trim at different speeds and conditions. You’ll eventually find the sweet spot. Porpoising is another factor. Not sure if you have that issue or not. Same thing though, find the sweet spot.
Good luck, You’ll get it figured out

Any size to them?
Last September we caught over 100 per day on Bitter. Nothing was over 13″2 weeks ago a similar report came out. Lots of fish but no size to them.
I’ll be going back out in 2 weeks. Hope to find better size fish.
For every 6 – 13” fish we caught we would get a better fish in the timber on the west end.
All the fish we caught on the main lake were better quality. Fish ranged from 17” to 24”. We released around a dozen over 20”.
Well that’s better news to hear. Thanks for sharing that Mike.

Hey Joel
Good to see you back here as well.
I ran into you at Kwik Trip in Northfield and said hello a few weeks ago if you remember. I wish we could have talked longer as if I would have known of your new position, I would have asked a lot more questions.
Anyways, been looking forward to the new app for awhile. I briefly checked it out but will dig into it further.
It’s time.
Look for circles (Beds) in the sand up near shore.
Any over hanging trees providing shade in the shallows has always been a go to for me.
Just old fashioned slip bobber with a piece of crawler on a tiny tube jig or a flu flu.
I’m probably not telling you anything you don’t already know.
