This lake is near and dear to me, it’s where I learned to fish.its not a good winter lake. I’m not trying discourage anybody but I can’t recall anyone doing much in the winter. Since 1970.The areas circled in red are good starting pts. I would think of them as funnels or channel from deep to shallow. I would like to buy
The stucco cabin on the west side. My grandfather build it in 1970 using recycled materials from houses torn down
From interstate 94 in St. Paul. Cost 1500.00 dollars.

I take a water cooler jug.(Same as you’ll find in the office water cooler. You can get them at Home Depot.
a 12 ga shell fits perfect in the opening at the top as a stoper. Then I have 2 Ivory soap bottles with the pull up top. It’s important to have the pop top to squirt in the dog nose to evacuate the seeds. Also the controll of the spout minimizes water waste.

Sorry, I think this is terrible. If a CO is sitting around the corner, waiting for you to drive away in violation, only to follow you an ticket you, wow. Did you deserve a ticket, sure, you cannot argue with the law. Could the CO who was watching you walk up and introduce himself, inform you of the new law, and help you to become compliant there and in the future? I guess not. Apparently the thinking is hit him hard, that will get the point across.

The co told me they have educated or warned people for the last 2 years. He told me the admin said its time to enforce the law. I his defence he was almost appologetic about giving me the ticket . Good luck fishing and be safe.

    I’m the guilty one.
I got a call that my kid was having a serious reaction and he needed medical attention. So I was in a real hurry. The co was sitting around the corner of the shack watching me ( never saw him only a black truck)franticly trying to get my boat out the water on get on the road. I knew I had not taken on any water so I didn’t bother to unscrew my drain.
I blew out my live well most if it any way on the way in I had one fish in the box.
Figured I was good to go. I’m not trying to cry foul. But all the CO had to do is to walk over and say did you remember to unscrew your drain. No he waited until I drove off and then followed me to pull me over on the narrow hiway.

I didn’t take the time to pull all the plugs and make sure all the water was out of my live well. I made the mistake I received a $50 civil ticket for not pulling the plug on my boat. I could have been a lot worse. And the CO did his best to get me back on the road. I got home as fast as possible to get my little guy fixed up. Benadril (Sp)works. Just wanted to give a heads up and save someone else a $50 burn or worse.

I do have one comment. I do not understand how I am supposed to prove that my leech water is pure. When I buy leeches I get them by the pound @ $20.00. Usually I keep them in 1 container. I have a hard time pouring 20 bucks on the ground every time I go fishing, or minnows for that matter. Does the State list a specific prodical for how to maintain your live bait or do we have to pour it on the ground every time?

Ah come on, you’re killing me here! Nice ride! And here I’m hopeful I may get a gift card or two for bait and tackle. I think you already got a father’s day present a couple years back? That’s the best present a guy could have.

there is no greater joy than the gift of a child, i would’n trade him for anything.

Just got back. Bring your snowmobile and trap if you want a successful trip. The lakes have had minimal pressure except for Pickeral. It would be a good idea to bring shovel and snowblower and tow strap, a couple of buddies to shovel and some money to pay the guy when you get stuck. all I can say is SNOW and lots of it.

    Brian,
I shure like to demo on of thoes before I buy it. I thought the black and white version with the 360 view was a cool concept. I would buy a color one if they had that feature.

Jimmy, The State of Minnesota is a businness. They want money. Like any business things are negotable. Take the day off go to your court date. Chance are your talk to a court admin person they will offer you a deal. Some thing like pay a little more and this won’t show up on your record. Long and you keep from getting any more violations. Or you can play the game with the court and see if the cop shows up to your second hearing. Chances are he won’t.
I’ve gotten out of paying lots of tickets and I don’t have any tickets that are reported to the ins. co.

I was on Pickerel fishing next thoes boys from the Wisconsin, Looked like you circled the wagons and were waiting for an attack. Regarding the reports. Driving on the lakes suck. Do your self a favor and bring your sleds and traps. Sportsmans was opening up a few lakes for guys to get out. But there is no one plowing roads by any means.
