This morning Thains river was flowing good, the isle ramp area was open, the island resort was wide open and the creek flowing from hunters pt is rippin pretty good.

I would think if we get this 8-12″ their talking about it would speed up the process? That amount of weight would have to sink the ice a little helping it melt? They are also talking 60 by tuesday next week

    bring on the extra moisture!!

169 and 27 is south end of the lake.

it will surely put lundeen ( a staple of mille lacs for decades) in a bad spot.

Mellens the BP gas station will also feel it.

I think it will even hurt Johnsons and Tutts too. if people make that the stop due to lower prices and a better selection with a better return policy then its a no brainer.

couldn’t agree more with you Chris.

I wouldn’t even care if they did hook and line or even spearing year round….but the netting is purely for makeing money under the cover of tradition and heritage.

That is one reason that its the out of state tribes that are doing it. They don’t have the economic resources the other tribes have here.

870 synthetic pump. shoot with it, turn it over and use it as a paddle and shoot again. things are the rhino rod of the gun world in my opinion.

this is why it is so important for all of us to realize where we spend our money. Personally I don’t like to use Eddy’s, eat or gamble at the casino, or spend money at corporate places.

I wonder how much money I have spent at that BP gas station (next to DQ) on the corner in Onamia??

I’m not sure what the BP deal is (franchise or corporate) but I try to give my business to Lundeens, malmo citgo and similar place around the lake, is it more expensive? yes. But I think it’s worth it.

I try and support the people that I know and get good service from. If it costs me $2 more so be it.

I hope we get cold weather all through Feb and into March so we get some more ice. Other wise we’re looking at an early ice out and thats not good for us.

Completly illegal!! To shot it near the feeder it a huge violation! Call the DNR asap and turn them in!
To even hunt within 100yds or on the “trail” leading to or from it is how it reads…i think
    This is in mn right?

You like thoose rages??? I tried them early on and hated the design. The blades would always fall off the band at the littlest tick.

From first ice to mid jan is best in my opinion. Shallower early and then you got about a week of good fishing once you can get to the flats, after that it really slows down.

Make sure your using the same anchor point and placement of your holding hand. Squeezing the grip too hard or too light will twist your bow and change your placement. Same with anchor point, it will mess you up.

it is a tough go that is a fact, but you have quite a background and finding a good place to work (maybe your own place) is well worth it in the end.

    Hang in there
