I just bought a new laker rod and it’s a 38 inch heavy automatic fisherman rod, great rod for the money, look it up on marine general or call them that’s the only place I’ve seen them.

Was there last weekend and needed one but we drilled holes inside of a ice castle without it lowered down,if just in a portable I’d say you’d be fine, I’d say roughly 16-18 inches of ice where we were

Great info guys, does anyone use the weather underground weather app? I can’t figure out how to get the barometer chart on it.

I own a tucr bull whip and I would not use it if I was going after lakers or large walleye, it has a great backbone but it has has a very sensitive tip for detecting light biting pan fish, it really to light of a rod for what your targeting, I would suggest you look at a tucr commander or the precision power rod

I keep 4 28 inch rods and one smaller rod, but I also keep about a 5″x8″ tackle box,2 bait pucks, roll of electrical tape and a pair of forceps in it also with no problems

What I’ve found to be really effective and actually the only way we tip up fish for big pike and walleyes is just running 20-30 lb black tip up line and then putting about a 4 ft leader of 20lb mono on, and then tie on a 2/0 single hook, preferably eagle claw baitholder, and we use light northerns or sucker minnows, very simple but is super effective

I’m gonna guess around December 20th up around lake vermilion area,Temps here don’t get below 20 degrees for quite awhile, last year we were driving trucks out on December 10th, best day of ice fishing I’ve ever had, put atleast 50 walleyes on the ice and at least 30 of em were over 22 inches, day I’ll never forget

I thought about extending the back rack on my wheeler but I have a cargo box on it now that I keep my tow ropes jumper cables and air pump in,I think I would have to ditch that to extend the rack

I ran 3lb mono on mine last year and it did very well for big crappies and gills and also jumbo perch.

Plano all weather case. Best investment for keeping
    rods safe.

Alex which model all weather case is that, and does the foam where your rods are come plucked or did you have to do all that yourself
