Before I go opening this is it a video of the lure or whatever the thing is that is making Cade all “Tingly”?
Look where my sister moved…….
May just have to go visit over spring break……….
Old Rat….
That was one of the most insightful things to come up on my screen in a very long time.
Thank you
I’m thinking about Lake geneva smallmouths next week.
Here’s last week……..The boy has a horseshoe up his butt…..
It use to be worse. It use to be that the govener could just cross out letters to make a law say whatever they wanted. That change went to referendum and passed.
What really bothers me is that it bypasses the basis of what the three branches of goverment system was set up to do…..to create a system of checks and balances.
I Wisconsin the Governor can delete words.
For example “It shall be illegal to Bass Fish during the full moon.” Can become “It shall be illegal to Bass Fish” with just the stroke of a pen. In some cases it could be used to get rid of expenses. In the budget line itemed veto the tax levy went up.
Exactly what the occurrence is that triggers us to notice is really un-important. My worry is the system we have in place which allows the average Joe to follow the process of legislation and raise a little hell if things are going amok is short circuited. I just can’t find a reason to believe that having a politician go off into a room a and come out with a law that has bypassed the entire system of checks and balances.
Call me old fashion but I don’t think that was the founding fathers intent.

Otto,
There was a tracking study on smallies a long time ago that indicated your fish migrated as much as 50 miles/year. The study is/was referenced a lot so you might be able to find it in a search. It may give you some idea what is happening.
John
John if it is the one I am thinking about I believe that it was done on the mississippi by the Iowa DNR. It showed seasonal locations and confirmed the wintering ground concept. I think In fishermaen published parts of it.
You might want to do some searches with that info.

I never thought you displayed any dis-respect. In case you were wondering.
Yeah……..But it’s nice to see that he actually wanted to make sure!

What we found out over here is that you have to be consistantly visable and vocal. They monitor the websites so let them know you are out here and PO’d
Perhaps the greatest folly committed by politicians is creating laws that they know, prior to passing, will not be obeyed. Whether it is culling or prohabition it is a mistake to create a law that will force otherwise law abiding people to choose to disobey, thus creating a riff between enforcement agencies and the people they represent.
For those of you that think the MN and WI DNR don’t cooperate think again. The Livewell size was a huge issue when the Culling study was done here in WI.
Many of the same questions were asked and answered. Some saw controls as a way to protect fish while others saw it as a way to harass tournament anglers.
One thing is for certian. Do not focus completely on one issue or portion of any of the proposals that either of these DNR submit. One of the more consistant behaviors that I have seen from them is inserting something that is quaranteed to cause a rucus and attrack attention away from less obvious (and often more dangerous)parts in the proposal.
All in all they are tricky little buggers.
While I do use the larger size swim jig heads inserted into tubes when I’m on the big pond this is how I use them most of the time.
Oh and that little thing sticking up from the hook shaft is not an erection……….
We started putting grub keepers on this summer Almost all of the swimjigs that we ship now have them. Some of the less popular colors don’t. But they are all now being made with them.
Lets think about the 3 fish limit during the july/aug time frame.
1st-this will really not impact any of the team tournements. Most if not all of the team circuits use a five or six fish team limit anyway so all of the team events will not be affected.
2nd-That would leave the BFL’s, weekend series both of the Bass federations and not much more to be affected. Both the BFL and Weekend series could move their july/aug events (and the money that goes with them) accross the border. The Bass federation has done state events in both the spring and fall time slots before. My guess is it would take no time at all to move back.
3rd-Lets ask what the effect of decreasing the limit to 3 would be. Let’s take this years BFL in Prarie Du Chien as an example even though it is twice as big as any of the other events that we could compare it to.
In that event 256 anglers caught 636 fish.
If you use the 15 percent delayed mortality rate from the 2006 FLW in La Crosse (which was the only one of the test events in aug/july that did not have a disclaimer in the DNR documentation about problems with the sample fish) that would lead to a mortality of 95. fish or about 30 fish each for pool 9,10 and 11.
The same event with a cap of 3 fish would have lead to 497 fish being wieghed in (any fish in excess of 3 was deducted from the total).
Using the same 15% as we did in the first example that would lead to a mortallity of 75 fish. That is a difference of 20 fish or about seven per pool.
Do you think this is worth it? Using the expence figures for the Weekend series (the DNR did not include the BFL in the study) which is the closest in size and make-up the average each angler spends at the event is $500 which adds up to $128,000.00 in cash for a one day tournament.
Funny you should ask…..
I ask THE DNR that yesterday and recieved a response today that the final recomendations, while complete, will not be taken to the NRB until after the new administration at THE DNR has been brought up to speed on it.
I asked if that meant that the final recomendations where complete and available for review but as of now have not heard back.
I’ll let everybody know what I find out.
Bass is alive and kicking. They treated us with real class. I can’t wait to get ahold of the pictures of max and I with both Ray Scott and Don Corkrin. I had Max Carry my fish up and Ray refered to him as My caddy…….Then asked the audiance if they thought he looked like huck finn. Both kids are still talking about it. The give aways at the meeting were great.
If there ever was a guestion as to the health of the “real” Bass federation this answered it with a glowing bill of health.
The team was made up of some of the classiest guys that I have ever had the pleasure to spend time with.
In short we are lucky that Ray started this whole B.A.S.S. thing and that we stuck it out.
I believe that is the fourth time in 7 years……..Anybody out there know what years?
Blue……I like how you think……..
Man did I really say that………???????????

17.6 to win 12.2 to cash
on a side note, my buddy’s boat was robbed last night at 6:00PM in the Cabela’s parking lot in PDC…He left the 2 rear storage boxes unlocked in his Ranger and they swiped a bunch of stuff out of there…Funny thing is, they sorted through to get to the frogs (which were on the bottom) swim jigs and flipping jigs. they actually looked passed the full box of Lucky Crafts to get to the jigs and frogs. He talked to somebody at the store and they are watching the tape today after telling him they have good camera coverage in the area he was parked…Hopefully they catch that SOB
When they catch him how about this….
Take a frezzer size box…..strip the guy naked and put him in the box……..Dump all of the lucky crafts (hooks exposed) into the box and seal the box up. roll him down a hill in the box…….
Then open the box….and give him some pliers………
The 11-14 year old division was won on a green pumpkin tube and the 15-16 year old division was won on a blue blue flake Senko.
So I take a rod in to the local rod repair guy and while he’s fixin it I notice that thereis a bin with 25 of the old gator tails on black plum…….Think I bought em………
Cade I can just imagine the look on your face…….Think about it it could be worse you could be one of my kids…….
