You can view the maps from any Garmin Lakemaster SD card or micro SD card using Garmin Basecamp. Download and install Basecamp from Garmins website. Then insert your chip into your PC cards SD slot while it’s running. Make sure you click on the Lakemaster text on the left side of the Basecamp app to load the map onto the app.

As for phones, nothing can be done except to mirror your PC screen onto your phone. You’d have to bring your laptop with. Even then, it won’t show you your current location.

Both will do what you want. However, when you want to sell it more people will want an M5 compared to and M3. Mostly because they feel they might as well go for the better unit.

The whole “it’s cheating” is an interesting viewpoint. I’m guessing that everyone said the same thing when the first graphs were introduced then when the first flashers came around. Then came the digital lake maps and GPS units. In the end, you still have to make them bite.

Which way do you sit on this? Asking because it looks like every direction has stuff in the way. Or do you sit where the auger is and take it off when fishing?

Depends on what time of year you are planning on going. If it’s when they let all the trucks out and they plow then you can drive right up to where you want to fish for many spots.

I’m guessing you need one for your Strikemaster. Contact them first. Otherwise I have heard that Batteries Plus will rebuild batteries.

Running a buddy heater wouldn’t be a problem. If you’re worried. Buy a cheap carbon monoxide alarm and crack a window.

This is exactly what I do. I sleep in my portable at least 5 nights a season. I have vents open and zippered doors open a little at the top as well as the CO detector and a buddy heater. I also tend to keep it running on low or pilot and wake up a few times to turn it up to take the cold off. I also know of many other people who do the same.

I agree with the dislike of electrical tape. I went to swap out a reel on a rod for another reel and it pulled off chunks of cork.

Just because it didn’t happen to you, doesn’t mean that it doesn’t happen. There are reasons for needing/wanting to switch out a reel such as wanting to upgrade your reel or needing to replace a broken one.

DRH1175, I did exactly the same thing this weekend with my 3i. 5 Boy Scouts packed into the 3i and had a grand old time. No fish were caught, but they had fun. I let them try packing it back up. Came over to find they had broken a hub. I ordered a replacement hub the same day (this past Saturday). It just arrived at my door straight from Eskimo today. That’s customer service.

Find a ledge or inside turn on a flat. Set up on that for overnight action. Don’t sit on top. Bottom works but I like ledges half way up the flat. Like Mark said put out tip ups on top, edge and deep off flat to find out where they are.

Maybe I’m one of the few. But when my Otter rides in the back of my trailer I place a travel cover on it and then a plastic tarp to protect it from road salt. At the end of the season I will put the travel cover into the washer to clean off any salt.

Salt is a bad deal for anything. My garage floor is chewed up by it. Gotta clean it up when possible.

So where I put that yellow x why is that not classified as an inside turn

It’s kind of an inside turn, but not as major as some. Either way, I like that spot as it’s a pinch point.

I have been thinking about doing something like this for a long time. Nice to see someone make it happen. Good job!

I have my set, just can’t bring myself to drill holes in my tub yet!

Just make sure you drill holes a little smaller than the bolts and then thread them in. It might help with preventing leaking into through the holes.

Cottage owner as well. I picked up the older grey seats with the aluminum frame under them and can use one or both. It does get crowded with two especially if you’re over 6ft. I too can fit the cottage in my SUV and can load it by myself. I will use a smitty sled as well when I have to pull it by hand. Smitty sleds are awesome.

I just ordered a pair of Universal Crampons microspikes off Amazon for 17.00. They got good reviews and of course they look just like Kahtoolas. My Kahtoolas broke last year so I thought what the heck I’ll try them. We’ll see how long they hold up.

Hard to go wrong at that price.

Years ago I used 3 moving blankets and sewed up an inner liner for my Otter Den. It was super warm, but bulky. If you can create a cover to throw over the top you will be very warm.

Whatever you get, make sure they cover the bottom of the entire boot. Some only cover the front and not the heel.

I was at Drock on Saturday as well to pick up some used auger plastic parts. Great place!

    Thanks for all the replies.

I forgot to pack it up on a north end flat out of Rogers. Someone picked it up after we left because when we went back it was gone. Just hoping that an honest sole will return it to me.

I was up there from Saturday till Sunday. We pulled an 8 x 17 wheelhouse all around the lake. We followed another buddy in his truck who drove first to create a trail. Never got stuck an we put over 10 miles on and off road. Bring a tow rope as there are some deeper areas of snow. Snow average was around 6 to 8″.

I forgot to pack it up and accidentally left it on a flat. Went back for it a few hours later and it was gone.

My favorite walleye lure on a tip up is a tulibee colored forrrage minnow. Single hook. With a live minnow hooked from top with point facing back toward tail.

I use two Otter flip seats in my Cottage when needed, would be tight but doable with two large adults, but fine with an adult and child.

    Same here.

Here is my routine to start mine. Turn the switch on (duh, I know), prime the bulb 3 or 4 times and put choke on full. Pull the cord until the engine pops, then turn off the choke. Pull it again, starts right up. Might need to feather the choke a bit at first, but this has worked for me without issue. Never takes more than 4 pulls.

Same routine for me. Turn it to on. Prime until I see gas in the bulb, then push in decompression button, set to choke, pull If it pops, turn it to run, then pull again. If run doesn’t start, push compression, choke pull again until it pops, then set to run, pull again. Choke and run over and over until it runs. You might have to hit the throttle when it starts running.

Im hard on everything, so far my mitts, gloves and hats are great. Maybe get a hold of them and tell them what’s going on… I’m sure they will listen. They sell a TON on products, most are top notch. They compare to all top brands, I can vouch for that!!!

The gloves and mitts you show in your pic are not the version in question. The original poster is speaking of the X version of the mitts and gloves as am I.

I have the Clam Fleece Toque and a Clam Ice Armor Extreme (X) suit and love both of them. I also love their gloves for comfort and warmth. Just with the gloves that I have (in pic above) didn’t fall apart. The fabric choice for them is terrible as it is loosely woven.

Yep, same here. My Ice Armor X gloves unravel as well. Stupid choice of material IMO.
