If you can hold it off until fall, you could start asking the pros who are planning on selling their boats and start negotiating/locking in the price now. Then you could probably even get a free day of guided fishing out of it.
Ok that is awesome. Like in nascar when the big race is at the beginning of the year.
Or maybe the total weight for all the champ teams per state are weighed and they get to host championship next year.
I gotta say Bryon and I have been looking for something like this for some time. Since MWC had 3 MN lakes we fish we are thinking about taking the leap. However, we can’t take a week off to prefish and aren’t quite that ‘big time’. We love the competition even if we lose. We thought about doing the MTT too. We fish a small time tournament here and there, but miss out on the point accumulation/championship/playoff type rush. I REALLY like this AIM format. We don’t know these lakes as well – but with a Sunday tournament we can take off Friday – get 2 days of prefishing in and maybe get lucky. The price is right to give it a go. It’d be fun to fish some of the big AIM MN pros if they show up and mingle. We’ve fished as Co’s on the NWT and they always seem nice. I’m really hoping the tournament pro’s can bring some exposure. Also I’d like to see some Lund/Yamaha contingencies – that would differenciate from some of the other big circuits. Warrior as a sponsor is really cool. I have a Lund now but I might move to fiberglass and would definitely consider Warrior. I like the idea of MN/WI separate – but would like to see a rotating championship that’d take the top x teams from each state. Maybe it can expand to ND/SD or IL/MI or something. Maybe most total weight per state gets to host or something (Maybe Greenbay and Erie would have to be handicapped at 80%! LOL).
Without a depth finder keep middle/right while navigating. The wing dams are on the left. Be careful. You might want to glance at a map or ask the guys at evert’s to point them out to you before you head out.
I was out there too. I read these posts that it’s better to zip by then flood people out with wake going mid speed. So that’s what I did. If I could manage to plane out and stay on the other side of the river – I did. I didn’t mean to be a dick. If there was a pack of boats on both sides… I went slow. There is a small window to plane out between groups – so sometimes the edge boats may have seen more wake. But I was honestly doing my best. But going from everets all the way to the dam going 3 mph takes a while. Might as well put the trolling motor down and start fishing up stream right when you launch from everet’s!
really? we tried it and got stuck! we had to rock our way out! be careful! I think we had about 6 inches.
What side of that sand bar did you navigate? We were about 4/5ths the way on the right…

Yes. And there is a rebate where you can get it (better than) free.

I did this in the fall. 4 free 110 spools!
I love mine. Great for vertical jigging and a bit of casting. I’d recommend the 6’6″ MLF. St. Croix has a promo right now if you buy 2 or more and it goes over 300 bucks you get a free rage rod. (good enough for trolling) I did this over the holidays – when gander had a ‘buy 300 dollars worth get 50 bucks off type deal’ with free shipping. I bought 3 (1 for my father in law for christmas) to get over the $300. I got another 6’6″ eyecon and a slip and rig 7′ and then did the free rage rod bait caster. Was a pretty good deal.
I see on walleye central you said you were the only ones catching keepers… So – without giving away everything… what do you think was the difference? Presentation? Location? Speed? Bait? (I’m not asking for the exact thing you did – just which of the four might have been the ticket)
