In regards to drilling with downward pressure. Your not drilling through steel. Let the auger do the work, if you have sharp blades or chippers, you shouldn’t need any downward pressure. Just pull the trigger and keep the unit straight. It’ll suck itself through.
January 11, 2015 at 6:58 am #1495475Lost a Shimano CI+ 1000 series spinning reel and a St. Croix ice rod at Red Lake this year while packing up. Close them hatches people! lol
You put a giant spoon on and jigged that thing back up right??
January 10, 2015 at 2:31 pm #1495269I notice the siennas bind up a bit under 20 degrees. I switch out the drag washers with carbontex, but in cold weather the Sedona out performs. Otherwise hard to notice a difference in good conditions.
For drag washers and grease go here. You want the 10301 model # for sienna and Sedona 500s.

January 2, 2015 at 4:24 pm #1491254You really need that much gear?
A couple two man clams plus the little stuff brings you close to a couple hundred pounds.

Just put one im your hands and you’ll know.
December 7, 2014 at 9:21 pm #1481214Is it weird that I feel like a little kid on Christmas morning, everytime I get to sit down and watch the new episodes?
December 1, 2014 at 9:08 pm #1478778Cabelas Saskatchewan Pac boots, own two pair. Never once noticed cold in any negative temps. They are pigs though, be interesting to see if those apex boots are smaller and hold up to the extreme temps.
November 25, 2014 at 6:01 am #1476733I just switched over from elite techs, to an arsenal of tuned up customs. Those elite techs will never see my reels on again. Imo not even a comparison. I’ll save the elite techs for my two year old though. He needs a good starter rod next year.

October 2, 2014 at 1:26 pm #1460297Awesome info guys, appreciate it. Let’s talk value for a minute. Looking at the vexilar and marcum models online here. Seems like adding a function that tells you direction, depth and water temp can bring a system up a lot in terms of pricing. Do you guys find that a function like that is necessary or beneficial? Will I be happy with a system that’s gonna cost me 300$ over the 600$ systems?
September 29, 2014 at 8:01 pm #1459259In regards to doing things the cheap way, I found myself that when I get into something that I know is gonna stick, buy the best the first time or you’ll end up buying twice. Only do that if your serious though. The flasher though, I’m gonna say will is spot on with his advice, they will all do the job and one is better than none, and two with a friend who doesn’t have his own just brightens the whole experience.
September 28, 2014 at 8:40 pm #1458959Good luck in your new adventure and try no to spend too much Tight lines
I don’t think it’s possible to get into serious ice fishing without breaking the bank lol
September 27, 2014 at 10:38 am #1458668Tuned up custom precision or power precision depending on your rigging. Shimano Sedona or better reels, 6 lb sufix fluoro. Haven’t tried the ice fluoro yet but I’m sure its great. That’s what id be bringing.
September 25, 2014 at 5:59 pm #1458133Will that’s a great idea. Someone like myself would definitely make a weekend out of it. I know others who would say the same. Maybe next year you could consider making it a once a month get together, mix in a little cash and competition and you’ve got a ido fishing league!
September 16, 2014 at 5:12 pm #1455474Order rounds of different sizes in all colors! Thanks for the heads up.
September 14, 2014 at 5:47 pm #1454661Skeeters weren’t bad at all, was the chilliest I’ve experienced for bow opener! 32 degrees Saturday morning, almost need the extremes!
September 12, 2014 at 11:17 am #1454130The stamp being 60 is max draw weight for the limb. That doesn’t mean it’s set to 60. If you wanted to go beyond 60 you’d have to buy a higher rated set of limbs ie. a 70 stamped set. The 26 is the draw length of the stock cam that came with the bow. All cams are stamped as well so your current cam was swapped out. My advice is to find the nearest mathews dealer and get to know the guys that work there, mathews trains there employees to know there brand front and back. Also the reezen is a great bow!
September 11, 2014 at 7:29 pm #1453926Apologies don’t go far enough with that… It’s one thing to be a dickhead and kill a fish like that, but his attitude after the fact is bs.
September 9, 2014 at 9:15 pm #1453245Awesome buck! Would love a big velvet mount. Well executed as well. Look forward to seeing the next episode Ben! Really liking what IDO has been offering in both the fishing and hunting world, true professionals.
