February 8, 2022 at 7:23 am #2097613I ran a 2016 300 G2 worst motor I ever owned. In one season I had it in the shop 3 times for over $11k in warranty work and each repair was 2-3 weeks to be completed. Best thing I ever did was send that rig down the road.
June 6, 2021 at 9:16 am #2041035We do Aspahlt and concrete tear out and prep typically 3-4 driveways a week. I own a excavation company. We hire out the replacement driveway. (We specialize in gravel work) right now concrete is around $5-6/sq for for 4” thick with rebar. Aspahlt is going for $3-$3.75/sq ft that’s a 3” pour and compacted to 2.5” we typically charge $1/sq ft for tear out and disposal. That should give you some numbers to compare with when you get quotes.
January 12, 2021 at 8:51 pm #2005508I have been catching and seeing large numbers of perch on my camera on several mud flats in the last 2 weeks seems the perch hatch is certainly up this year. With that being said I have had marginal (walleye) success but it’s been very location dependent. I have been on 7 different mud flats in the past 2 weeks and 3 flats were very slow. Still graphed fish but inactive. The flats I have had better success on have been in the range of 15-25 fish a day. mostly 17-24” range with occasional larger fish. Dead stick has out produced jig and deeper has been better 29-31’ certainly have to work more for the bites but there are still active schools working around out there.

May 14, 2020 at 1:19 am #1942244This driveway is a good comparison. Homeowner decided to use crushed concrete for majority of the driveway and parking area up to he choose recycled asphalt.

May 14, 2020 at 1:17 am #1942243I own a contractor company locally in North branch. We do 1-2 gravel driveways and parking pads every day. Material is going to mostly depend on your location and what is available in your area at a fair price. Below I listed the top three options in order. Also if you are interested in any gravel work I’d be happy to get you an estimate. Just text me if you would like. 763-777-0084.
1.) asphalt millings
2.) recycled asphalt (some places have a mix of asphalt and concrete)
3.) crushed concrete (also referred to as crushed conbit, class 5 recycle and a few other names)We primarily work in the north metro up to Mille Lacs I have a pulse on most gravel pits from Blaine/Coon rapids up to aitkin. So I can narrow down best price and material options quickly in your area.
April 17, 2020 at 9:39 pm #1935356I owned a 2016 300 G2 worst motor I ever owned. Very complex to work on I was told by a very reputable mechanic BRP certified that fixed mine 4 times in 2 seasons each time was 3 weeks off the water water for BRP to approve warranty and ship parts. And the issues were very serious issues ignition cutting out at full throttle, mid section steering coming loose under power etc. a buddy had a 2016 250 G2 tiller and 2 warranties in 2 seasons as well. Similiar issues. Maybe we both had lemons… not sure. But I won’t ever hang one on my boat again. I also had a hell of a time selling that boat everybody wanted the boat but nobody wanted the motor!
April 11, 2020 at 7:40 am #1932886My last boat I had wave pros my new boat has air waves. I just took two trips to Erie and on several occasions my air waves bottomed out. I adjusted the pressure and turned it up above my weight rating of 230lbs and still bottomed our on occasion. Yes it was extremely rough but my wave pros never bottomed put on me once. Both are good but I would purchase wave pros!
February 21, 2020 at 5:28 pm #1917072Any word on 494 ramp taking the boat somewhere in the am rather go pool 2 than down to red wing.
February 3, 2020 at 7:41 am #1912069Shimano for me I have 14 stradics some C4 some regular love all of them and I fish 60-80 days a summer. I do a lot of casting and pitching especially in Canada and the river and my stradics haven’t let me down yet!
December 15, 2019 at 9:35 am #1898098Craig yes wahkon has people fishing as far out as half moon island on sleds. I did some checking in the bay and had consistently 6” or more. I didn’t venture out to half moon however. If you are looking for pike the weed lines in wahkon have plenty of them with the occasional walleye mixed in as well. Good luck.
November 19, 2019 at 4:23 pm #1892016Where are you located? I own a contractor company we have multiple track skidsteers we can come out and grade just need location. Feel free to call or text me 763-777-0084
July 22, 2019 at 9:45 pm #1868950I see the concern with the weeds but I know several seniors with knee and hip replacements that are unable to kneel or get under a boat to get these weeds. Most are responsible and either pressure wash them when they get home or have a family or friend help clean them off. I wouldn’t be quick to judge and get upset with this until I knew his plan of action. Hopefully he has one to take care of it!
July 9, 2019 at 9:15 pm #1866710Thank you for the feedback I’ll be contacting Scott to see if he will do it.
June 11, 2019 at 1:22 pm #1861638Reviving last years thread. Anyone been up to lac suel yet? We go to fisherman’s cover yearly on North west corner of the lake near Ear falls. I will report my trip when I get back I will be there the 14th-22nd.
May 27, 2019 at 8:38 pm #1859155Had a very good weekend of fishing well over 60 fish a day shiners rigging and jigging was best. Shallow gravel at dawn and when it was rough deep gravel mid day. Fished sat, sun, and Monday. Sunday was the slowest mid day with sun and little wind. Morning was still great but midday was much slower.

May 1, 2019 at 7:17 pm #1854157I will be there Sat-Mon staying at hunters point. Game plan pitching weed lines, gravel to sand transitions and rigging some break lines all tactics focused on finding spots away from crowds.
