So (May/June) every single boat you talked to had 100-200 fish days (depends on the # of people in a boat and the hours spent). But now people are struggling to catch them and your theory is they magically no longer exist and the lake is in trouble?

They also have said that they will be giving out tickets and the deadline is the deadline. They will work with you the same way anybody would want to work with you by making you dig in your wallet.

That is funny… yet they can close a wolf hunting season within 24 hours. The Wisconsin DNR is a complete joke with how lazy they are. Just like they couldn’t close the deer holiday hunt with a 3 week notice based on the hunting results and feedback from hunters identifying the deer herd numbers are way down. They said it should be cancelled but there was not enough time.
How can they close a wolf hunting season in 24 hours??
I am glad I don’t have a shack on the lake and hope everybody does get there shacks off safe and sound.
December 13, 2013 at 3:47 pm #1371192Appreciate the updates on the ice conditions! Hopefully it will not be long before the rental shacks are on the ice and full size trucks will be allowed. Looking forward to getting up there this winter.
October 25, 2013 at 12:52 pm #133173To me it looks like a tree hugger and guessing she is out for her morning nature walk. She also knows that by walking thru and area where you hunt continously that she potentially will be saving a deers life.
July 12, 2013 at 6:02 pm #1183100No rules meeting identified. Show up at boat inspection at 5 am and get the low down and boat number etc. etc. This is the way tournaments should be held…we all know the basic rules and if there is anything specific that needs to be mentioned during boat inspection that information can be conveyed to the boater and co-angler. Good luck
July 9, 2013 at 7:58 pm #1182454Purhaps a better question is how is the water clarity and floating debris. Enough to cause head aches with trolling cranks?
June 7, 2013 at 8:36 pm #1176414Need to do away with the Friday night before rules meetings. Turnout would be a lot better. If you feel information is required to be given to each team, when doing the boat inspection in the morning would be sufficient.
May 28, 2013 at 4:10 pm #130575Yes they are starting to grow. I do have pictures not on this computer that I could share but can confirm they are growing.
May 2, 2013 at 6:48 pm #1167758I was shocked to read this article today, if it was posted prevoiusly I appologize. I am not very happy and felt bad reading about all the topics on Lake Mille Lacs and now know exactly how it feels to have it hit this close to my home body of water.
January 10, 2013 at 1:32 am #1128833do you move your shacks often to stay on the hot bite…pending there is one? Just want to try and stay away from resorts who place a house and don’t ever move them from early ice until the end of the year. Can tell by the million and a half pee spots around them…
January 4, 2013 at 9:38 pm #1126939How many inches of ice are out in the middle of the lake on average?
May 16, 2012 at 3:10 pm #1068583Water levels are on their way down and should be about normal by Friday pending any rain Thursday obviously. The fish on the other hand I cannot help with that answer. I look forward to hearing others responses as it has been a struggle pulling lead core as well as live bait for my boat the past two weekends. Live bait sheep head all day long….lead core notta
April 13, 2012 at 2:25 pm #54277Late off the roost this morning with the cloudy skys over her on the MN/WI border. The Tom gobbled one time while roosted at 6:15 was quiet until 6:50 when he flew down into the field. Once he landed he gobbled about a dozen times while working my direction. I didn’t even have to call and by 7:00 am I had him on the ground. Pictures to follow.
April 13, 2012 at 2:22 pm #54275Went out this morning sat on the edge of the field at 6:50 the tom flew down off the roost and at 7:00 am he hit the ground. No calling and/or decoys pretty neat. Once he landed in the field he gobbled about a dozen times while walking my direction. Scouted him out the day before he was going to the same exact spot in the field he was at the morning before. Goodluck!
March 14, 2012 at 11:15 am #1049099Very sad news. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family. He was always as excited as I was when a big fish was brought up to the stage.
February 15, 2012 at 2:29 pm #103919735+ min is a true statement. I was traveling at the posted speed limit and was passed by someone on the hunter’s pt road last weekend. The next day the crack along the road had extended about 8 inches even with the negative temps and had open water in the cracks. Speed on the roads is the key to maintain them and some people just have a hard time going the posted limits. You wonder why people are going go thru.
