This was caught on the Missouri River near Akaska, SD. Turned it in to the police and they ended up saying it was most likely from a Native American burial ground.

I absolutely love the Midwest Whitetail shows during the season! They actually remind me of the IDO fishing shows. Personally, I was a little underwhelmed by the new Chasing November series. JMO

I know you said that you want to stay away from rechargeable batteries, but I have run them in my Moultrie and Wildgame cameras for the past few years with great results. I run them from August through November or December without changing.

We use them a ton on Oahe in the summer!! We fish them plain, or with a bead or two.
We have tried the spinners and propellers and they work ok, but they tend to displace too much water which will cause less action from the hook itself.
We also experiment with all kinds of plastics for bait…sometimes we will catch 5-10 fish before we have to change plastics.
Live bait tends to break off more often and doesn’t move as well. I feel that we have the bait in front of the fish longer when we use plastics.
My dad still likes to use real crawlers, but we are slowly changing him over to plastics.

I grew up fishing many black hills streams. Small Mepps spinners are deadly out there.
Try Whitewood creek near Deadwood. Not as much pressure as other areas in the hills.

I have the same setup…never had any issue with mine. You should be able to just let more cable out of the winch. Post some pics if you have them!!

Just take the exit east of the river and then turn South. There will be a dead end…just take the gravel road that heads west towards the river.
In terms of tackle…many guys cast a crappie rig out(slip bobbers are tough because of the current)and then use their other pole to jig or cast cranks.

You can never go wrong with fishing at Chamberlain, right under the Interstate bridge. I sometimes wonder why we even fish out of a boat when we almost always do better from shore!

I use the same electric bread knives from Walmart/target….they work awesome and you can buy 5 of them for the price of one that is designed for fish. I have used the same one for the past 3 years…..
