I am a big fan of the VMC Flash Chaps for panfish especially in a little deeper water. If I’m fishing shallower water I really like the Tingler. I will often just tip them with plastic or at times depending on how the fish are reacting I will put on maggots or a strip of beavertail bait.

I have a few reels with push buttons to fold the handle, but besides those I don’t fold them but I also don’t run 2500 on any of my ice rods. I have never had a problem with my reels fitting or being damaged. But with big reels you may have to fold the handles.

I almost always put my battery in when I am on the ice, and as long as you make sure it snaps all the way I have never lost one.

I’ve used mine the last couple years and I have had it in rain, and snow and I’ve never had an issue, they are built to handle it.

I’m planning one last trip Saturday myself then I’ll feel good putting the ice gear away and taking the boat out.

That’s great! There’s nothing like spending time fishing with kids!

Tom your right, the packs of Trigger X plastics are discontinued. They are only making enough to make the pre rigged jigs. I have seen a few places that still have some packs left from last year not not many.

I put a board on mine when I went from Humminbird to my Garmin 93sv. The holes were off just enough to not work very well.

Oh boy is my wife going to rage. I didn’t even start the WI 9 day gun deer season yet, and I’ll be on the ice the next day. This is awesome!

Yep this is exactly what I was thinking. I’m hoping to fill my tags right away and hit the ice for the rest of the season.

When I’m chasing big gills and as long as I’m using jigs over 1/32oz the Bullwhip is my go to. When the bite is tough and I’m downsizing baits that’s when I go with the precision Noodle.

I have been wearing Kahtoola Microspikes for years they are worth every penny. I don’t ever recall having one fall off or slipping with them on.

They do work really well. I have always carried a small jig box in my bibs and for years wrecked lots of jigs because they they never stayed put. I started using the Rapala boxes 2 years ago and have really been impressed with how well they hold the jigs.

That’s a beautiful body of water and the fishing can be really good. There’s good number of walleye, smallmouth, panfish and if your in to muskies you can do well. If your looking to keep some walleye there is a slot, and it’s a 10 panfish lake as well.

Is it an oil injected 2 stroke? Or is it a 4 stroke? I have seen lots of the sensors in the oil tanks fail and it’s possible that at a negative trim angle it could allow the switch to shut off.

Lots of charger will not know the battery is connected if the voltage is to low so it will look like it’s fully charged on the charger. Lots of times if you hook a jump box too the battery while the charger is plugged in it will sense the voltage and start charging the battery.

For me it would be a 3/8 oz swim jig it’s so versatile. I can throw it thru pads or in grass or I can work it in clean water and it will get eaten.

I have an M5 on the shuttle and LX6 and I have hardly even used the 6 this year because I like the features of the shuttle so much. I will for sure be putting my 6 on a shuttle for next season. The battery life is awesome and all the other features are great, I don’t miss having extra transducer cord falling out all the time. The other really nice thing is with the transducer stored upside down like it is on the shuttle it won’t freeze down like it does in the other units.

I haven’t fished it yet this year but I have heard the bites been pretty slow recently. I have a buddy who has had a shack on it for years and he said he couldn’t believe the number of permanent shacks on it this year. He did well early but not recently.

I set mine from time to time for panfish and I do just set it right at the edge lots of times I like to keep the spit shot or weight I’m using as light as possible just so they don’t drop it as soon as it lets loose of the trigger or they will drop the bait almost every time.

I have never had it last very long but if I am using waxies or spikes sometimes on a hard hook set it tears them off and the flasher will read it for a while. I have seen it even when using just plastic and then it seems to just be air and clears up pretty quick normally.

My Marcum M5 or LX6 I would have a hard time even going on the ice with out electronics.

I believe the target separation is different too. 1/2 to 3/4 or something close to that.

Yep that’s what it is the 6 has 3/4” and the 7 has 1/2” target separation and the screen size difference of course.

I put a boat in at Evert’s Yesterday so you would be good to go there too.

The only time I have had mine do that was when my spade connector pulled off the battery but that’s probably not what you have going on if you have already done a wiggle test.

I’ve used a lot of different gloves over the years but the best ones I’ve used are the Striker Climate gloves for my heavy pair and then the Striker second skin gloves as the light pair I wear whenever the weather allows me to not wear my heavy pair. Both pairs keep my hands warm and dry.

My normal go to is a glow yellow perch because I fish a lot of lakes with small perch in them, but I do also use a gold chrome quite a bit.
