I have the Go Pro 3+ Black. Its pretty fun to play with. The Go Pro app is cool. You can see what the camera is viewing and change settings or modes on your phone up to a couple hundred feet away. It does take amazing video up close but is not great for things at distance.

After a little incident last year on Mille lacs, (shack flipped & 580G costa’s down the hole) I put two small eye bolts on the outside back corners of my sled then use two of the screw in ice anchors tied to a short rope.
BTW anyone fishing 8 mile finds my shades I’ll buy ya a beer

I got some spools mixed up last fall, I think the 6930 spool worked on the 6730 but the 6730 spool did not work on the 6930. Or it was the other way around. So the answer is yes….or maybe….or no…
    Glad I could help

After I shoot one through an animal, I’ll soak it in peroxide for a few hours. Hit with a toothbrush and test it. This works about 75% of the time I’d say.

Once you are done shooting them for the summer use a little string wax to plug up the hole on the side. That will keep some of the blood out.

I wear SmartWool Mid-weight NTS, best stuff I have ever owned. If you are moving you may want to look at the light.

    Looks nice Kooty.
Another plus for the QAD is that you can change the cord without taking the “guts” of the rest apart. This feature is also nice if you have to cable tune and your cord is tied in, not that its a huge deal to cut your cord out and re-tie, but can be easier for minor tweaks.

Thanks for the feedback! I am having a hard time justifying a $380 stand plus a $125 mod to make the seat flip up. $505 is an incredible amount to spend on one stand. But I don’t think I would want a stand that the seat doesn’t flip up on.

The $125 mod is for people who already have a sit and climb and want to convert to a flip top. You can buy just the flip top version for around $400 I think.
I just got mine last week and love it. The draw back of most climbing stands is that you have to place the top super low to be able to shoot(bow) while standing, making sitting uncomfortable and hard to get to a standing position quietly. With the fliptop I can sit and shoot or place the seat hi away from the base almost like a but-seat in the bow of the boat, just enough to take a little pressure off my feet but in good position to shoot as well.

Hey Joel. I got some trail cams to put up, sounds like we need to do a trout and scout night soon!
That’s usually the norm with HJ’s. They will trigger alot of bites but they don’t always get hooks. On days when they are not crushing it I will usually switch to a Rapala Ultra light minnow or a Vibrax shallow running spinner. I’m usually working up stream so the shallow blade allows for a slower retrieve running with the current. Also with the HJ’s and UL minnows I fast twitch the rod tip to let the bait hold over good water longer, rather than just using a standard retrieve. My go to colors are black/silver and black/gold for HJ’s. For spinners I usually run gold or a blue/chrome. The x-rap in rainbow can be good at times too! As you know it all depends on the stream and the species you are after, for some reason Brookies seem to never miss the hooks and a brown can crush it and get none.

Had good luck with my gamehide coat.

Don’t mean to hijack your post but was also looking at some new gear. Anyone have any experience with the Columbia PFG superecell suit?

    Got ya
Usually false triggers are a bird flying by or on real windy days it can be brush moving. When it gets colder if you see an increase in empty photos change your sensor to low.

I’m running at the 3MP setting with a 16GB memory card because I didn’t know how many frames the card would hold at a given setting

When you are in Set-up mode on the main screen you should see how many pictures it has taken and how many pictures are available represented by two 4 digit numbers. So 150 pictures out of 7995 available would show up as 0150/7995. I think mine on 8mp setting will hold just shy of 8,000 pics on a 8gb card. After you are done setting up you can always check there to see how many pics you can hold and make adjustments as you see fit. I have mine set to 5 second interval and 3 pic bursts.

Hunter Safety Systems ultra lite fit my needs best. Lite weight, can wear it under my suit, lineman’s strap for hangin stands, and drag loop for pullin deer out. I really like the tree spider but it just did not fit me well.

I started looking at Primos, but the current generation are attracting some very negative reveiws with battery boxes that short out and melt the camera

We have all Bushnell cams out and I love them. Got a great price on 3 truth cam 46 ultras and they all got returned. One melted down and the others needed firmware updates just to take pictures. Exchanged for Bushnell Trophy cam HD. I think they were $199. Would have actually saved money by just sticking with bushnells the first time after driving to the woods twice and back to the store

Pretty sure Lakeville is still open, unless something really changed,

With the store remodel they will not have minnows any more. Just crawlers, wax worms and leeches I think.
