Dear Everts Resort:
I’m writing to thank you for a recent stay at your fishing resort in Hagar City. Your resort manager Jim was very friendly, helpful and accommodating to our group of 19 people. He went out of his way to make sure all of our needs were met while staying there. In fact, he went above and beyond to repair my father’s boat trailer. The trailer had been damaged while trying to put the boat back on the trailer the first day. The next day this was brought to Jim’s attention while the boat was in the water. Without further prompting Jim pulled the trailer over to his work area and replaced the carpeted support board that had been broken. The repair allowed us to continue fishing without the hassle and expense of replacing the board. When asked what was owed, Jim simply said “get out of here” and would not take a dime for his efforts or material. It was and is greatly appreciated! He went above and beyond the call of duty to help us out. Rest assured if we return to the area next year to fish, and we probably will, Everts resort will be our first choice. Thanks again for a great stay and Jim’s help.
Sincerely,
Mike Bradfield
. What critical services will DNR continue during the shutdown?
We will continue to provide those services mandated by the Ramsey County court. The court has agreed with the Governor’s recommendation to deem the following DNR Priority 1 and 2 services as critical to continue ‘at a minimal level of staffing and operating expense’ during shutdown:
Conservation law enforcement
Water treatment
Bison herd care
Hatchery maintenance and tree nursery care
Soudan mine maintenance
Pathology lab testing
Dam safety and operations
Dike-water control structure management
Incident command team, including disaster response coordination
Support for critical services
The DNR estimates that these functions will require 220-230 staff. Of those, 186 are conservation officers. These officers will be ensuring the safety and welfare of Minnesota citizens and DNR staff and the security of DNR property and facilities, in addition to serving in their natural-resource protection role.
No other DNR services are operating, including our state parks system and licensing and registration activities. The balance of our approximately 2,500 staff is laid off.
2. Am I still able to purchase a fishing license?
No. The sale of all fishing, hunting and trapping licenses, including online and telephone sales, will be suspended as of midnight, June 30. Likewise, no boat, ATV or other licenses will be sold.
All natural resource and license laws will remain in effect during a shutdown and will be enforced.

Funny How Califonia Passed Their budget in time by 6/30. No One get paid after 6/30 if the Budget is not finished.
They had a problem a few years ago with tranducers, the 37C is ~ 5 years old. The elements do go bad and I would get a new one now.
A lot of Pros’ change them annually. They fixed the Production/ISA9002 Issues Now.
I hate Mexican or China Electronic’s, harder to find a Good USA product.
You will find that “Airmar” Like the TM260 make great transducers that work with Lowrance.
I think Sturgeon now that they caught all the Catfish :} Good Write up and Happy Fathers Day “
Picked up a Canon PowerShot A3000 IS for $99 Office Max .
Canon has introduced the PowerShot A3000 IS and A3100 IS to top its A series of budget compacts. They become the first A series cameras to be built around Lithium Ion rechargeable batteries, rather than AA cells, giving around 230 shots per charge (based on standard tests). Both share the same 35-140mm equivalent (4x) image-stabilized zoom lens and 2.7″ LCD screen, with the A3100 offering a 12MP CCD sensor, rather than the A3000’s 10MP CCD. In line with their price tags, both cameras feature only VGA movie capability. Both are SDXC compatible.
