Another warning regarding Bass Pro. My work gave out Bass Pro gift cards as a reward for good work and I was lucky enough to receive one. I ordered some live bait hooks, sliding floats, fly leaders and an assortment of bead head flies. Two weeks later I received the hooks and leaders and they said that the floats were on backorder and the flies where delayed . Another 3 weeks went by and I finally got the floats. After I had not received my flies within the next two weeks I called to complain . It took another week to get them. All told it took me 2 months to get my order that I could have purchased in 5 minutes at any Bass Pro store !!!!! Needless to say I recomended to my employer to quit dealing with Bass Pro and to use Cabelas. I have never had this kind of issue with them.

I always seem to find the companies that do not
May 20, 2006 at 4:48 am #447820I suffer the same problem as you !!! I am on a 3:30-12:00 shift for the same reason. I justify it because our youngest son is in half day kindergarten and does not get home until noon. I tell the wife that we are saving on daycare
Maybe we could cross paths some day and take advantage of our schedule for a little weekday duck hunting followed by some . Ohh better not, still got work to look forward to

Also thanks for a great site, I am a new river fisherman having spent most of my time on lakes. I have not made it out yet this year, but plan to as soon as this weather clears up.
A question though if anyone cares to respond; Being a lake fisherman I am used to catching walleye on reefs and points, I have a small boat so everyone has recomended fishing the backwater areas. I have never associated backwater with walleyes. To tell you the truth, I have no clue where to startAny suggestions on what type of conditions I am looking for in these backwater areas such as bottom content, depth etc.?
May 12, 2006 at 4:43 am #445675My family and I spent a couple of days at Great Wolf Lodge and loved every minute of it. A little pricey but what vacation spot is cheap ?
May 11, 2006 at 4:30 am #445203Krisko, I am a union quality rep for Ford Motor Company and we have a system set up that customers such as yourself would be able to report there issues with a dealer panel board. These people are Ford Motor Company employees, not dealership people, and have the power to deal with dealerships or situations such as yours.
I am sure that GMC has a similar type of system set up. I would do a search and find out where your particular vehicle was made and attempt to contact someone at the assembly plant. If you are unable to get results speaking with a GMC Representative, I would try and contact there localy appointed union quality rep. With the automotive industry trends as they are, I would think that GMC would do what they could to maintain you as a customer.
If you had a Ford I would be able to direct you to the appropriate people, but if you had a Ford you wouldnt need to
Sorry….Couldnt help it !!!!

May 5, 2006 at 5:04 am #443944It is a V bottom, I was thinking that when he was out w/me I would fish mostly at the bottom end of Pepin around Wabasha and maybe up to the town of Pepin. It seems that that area would be more sheltered. I just wasnt sure if I would have much sucess. I am planning on getting a larger boat as soon as the funds become available. Let me re-phrase that “if” the funds come available.(just in case the wife is reading this )

April 29, 2006 at 2:44 am #441971Interesting conversation, I have fished a lake in Northern Minnesota along the Canadian border for the last 19 years, and believe it or not there is an imaginary line that divides U.S. from Canada. The only entry into the Canadian side of the lake is from entry points within the U.S., so you have to follow the U.S. bag limits while adhering to Canadian rules. One of these rules is that you are not allowed to use leaches, but you can on the U.S. side Hello, doesnt anyone realize that leaches can swim?
Sorry to drag on, but my point is that there are some screwed up rules out there so I wouldn’t doubt anything.
