Once during my Air Force stay at Nellis in Las Vegas, we were having air war games and all services were involved. A Marine tech carried a heavy avionics computer on his shoulder to our shop for testing. About a mile walk in the nice desert summer heat. He was ready to leave the shop, we were gonna give him a ride back…he declined and off the Marine went with the stuff on his shoulder, he was following orders.

Wow, that dude was just nasty tough…that’s when I learned things were pretty easy for me during my Air Force days.

The transition to color TV was fun. We all may have a common memory…we survived the inevitable end of the world and every computer worldwide crashing, when 1999 ended. 2000 rolled in peacefully.

A few years ago I relocated to New Mexico. Had spent the previous 20 years in small town Iowa near the Mississippi. Now I’m in a city with about 90,000 people. An adventure for sure. Now I head to mountain lakes and chase trout.

Make the move and enjoy the change in lifestyle.

Happy 4th all! Visited the American Legion here today. Featuring a burger and hot dog cookout and hanging out with fellow Vets. Money raised today will help some members with medical costs.

It’s nice to see the Twins doing well. I am a die hard Cubs fan but keep a bit of an eye on the Twins…especially when they beat the White Sox. Watching the Twins and Rays today made me think about a Cubs vs Twins World Series.

Retired now, trained as an avionic tech in the Air Force, then until 2015 the electronic systems analyst with the National Weather Service in Davenport IA. Maintained the equipment for the office. Had a good career a good mix of office and road work.

You might try weather.gov, I’m biased, I retired from the national weather service. A good tool to keep in your phone.

Normal winter temps for us in the high desert. We just dug out of a winter storm…so I’m looking forward to the 40’s again.

Winter trips to P4, sure was a treat while I lived in Iowa. I brought cookies(homemade)as instructed for my first visit to Everts. That’s when I learned Dean enjoyed a cookie now and then.

I put a cracked egg in a small ceramic container that had a loose fitting lid. I swear the plan was to take care of the egg once I finished messing up the kitchen. Well that container got trapped in kitchen clutter…it was forgotten about. As a few weeks went by folks were catching a whiff of something raunchy in the kitchen. Could only the blame the dogs for so long. doah

I can only take credit for putting the cart together, Berkley is the mastermind. If I could only teach my lazy lab to do the pulling for me.
