February 27, 2016 at 11:04 am #1602664thanks Dave looks like I,ll have to wait till next year, on what little ice we had this year the glow white work well on the big red ears here in Indiana.

February 27, 2016 at 10:01 am #1602651Dave how is the ice holding, was hoping too make one more trip out to the Genoa area before its over
January 2, 2016 at 2:09 pm #1589137I took it to a new level, savage ML10 lapped the barrel, glassed the action, added a new pillar, floated the barrel, custom stock with a 24 power leupold scope and I shoot modern smokeless powder so I really don’t have to clean it about every 100 shoots plus its a 400+ yard gun
December 31, 2015 at 6:30 pm #1588782now remember they never get stuck or brake down till they are at the farthest point from the truck, cant tell you about that bike but I have a older Honda 250 2 wheel drive it was good on the ice 50% of the time
December 28, 2015 at 7:34 pm #1587928I also have seen a gizmo advertised that ties knots for you.
yes I have one (typro) and they work if you can not see the eye of the hook it will thread the eye, thanks guys went to you tube think it will do the trick
December 28, 2015 at 1:42 pm #1587814I also am in the market for one, and have narrowed it down to:
The Eagle Claw Magnum In-line reel gets you 28″ of line retrieval per handle rotation ($35)….Frabill 371 ice reel gets you 22″ of line retrieval per handle rotation. ($65). I have held both in the store, the Frabill seems like a much better/smoother built reel… but for the price you can almost get 2 Eagle Claw’s.
but your still buying PLASTIC, ok its like going on that 1 in a life time trip and only taking a Zebco 33 it dose’nt cost any more to go frist class you just don’t stay as long
December 28, 2015 at 5:35 am #1587706you went top shelf on the rod ! now go the rest of the way with a black betty 6061 you will fish with it for years to come.
December 21, 2015 at 7:01 am #1586218I have the vex flx-28 your going to love it super fine detail add more colors for more def. very bright and large screen you will have to turn down when its dark outside, digital depth for that fast run and gun. if you cant tell I am very happy with my vex..

Did you use the force to create this rotten weather? I know you haven’t been able to fish due to commitments, but did you have to take the ice with you?Duke !!
There will be fishable ice next weekend.. Get that Hovercraft ready and let’s hook up !!then send some fish stores to me if I can still take the cold after my accident just might be up your way. Griff.
November 23, 2014 at 7:53 pm #1476195most likely fish the same waters as you its always a hit or miss. with no nat. walleye lakes all I can tell you is drill fish, drill fish, drill fish, you see the pattern here, and hook up with a good walleye guy there are eight or ten of the best sticks any were right here in Indiana. GRIFF.
March 31, 2014 at 3:56 pm #1400726it was the best year in a very long time but then it was good ice early and stayed late, my partner and I started wright after the perch from day one and we worked hard very hard most days 100 / 150 holes, drill, fish, move, repeat. learned more this year on perch patterns than I have in the last 10 years, funny how you can get set in your ways and over look the obvious and how much a good partner can help when you push each other. I could only fish home waters this year as I was either on the ice or at the doctors (skin cancer ) but life is all good now we will see if what I learned this year works next ice season ?
March 29, 2014 at 5:15 am #1400175the best of luck to ya stay safe and lots of pic’s with the new rod’s
March 27, 2014 at 3:36 pm #1399806hey are those 6061 reel’s after the last too years no way would I give mine up and I can see why this rod would be great for the backwaters it sit’s you back from the hole as not to spook the fish by sight up through the hole or your shadow, and it would be super fast in and out of the hole with no or little reeling, well dave we have no backwaters here so I,ll have to make it back out and see just how they are.
