To counter your “Twins will never add an ace”
It was also said that the Twins will never be a “Power Hitting” club.
The tides have changed and in the post season, pitching is still king, starting pitching my boy!
Just remember the last two teams who broke the single season HR record did not even make it to the WS. We need to add an ace or two to even contend with Houston or Boston in the American then L.A. in the WS.
My pick- Madison Bumgarner, 29yrs old, will be UFA next season and the Giants aren’t contending. They can have any prospects they want from us! Our time is now, LET’S GO!
I would also recommend the Econolodge if you are in the Oconto area. Plenty of power hookups in the parking lot as well. The post spawn bite lasts a few weeks. Plenty of time yet to make the trip. Don’t be afraid to try a few crawler harnesses. Might seem early but we have done well on ’em post spawn.
I was just at Appeldoorns 3 days ago. We did well out on July Bar. The ticket for us was shiners and small pike suckers on rattles with chartreuse or yellow hooks. As far as bars, Liberty Beach is just to the north and their road connects to appeldoorns. We had a great time in that place.I would also agree Hunters Pt is a good place to catch the game. Enjoy!
Let’s also not forget Cruz is a GREAT clubhouse guy. Subtracted Doz and Mauer…we have a void and Cruz will get these boys ready daily. Great signing if you ask me.
Some resorts (West Wind, Bear Paw) are planning on letting single axle houses out, pulled by a wheeler. Not a bad option for basecamp!
I just got back from Red on Monday. Stayed at Bear Paw. We ran our wheelers out of Hillmans staked road. He had it staked out two miles. Zero snow cover so have a plan to anchor your portables and a way to bank it as the wind has been howling on the lake. I use a chain to wrap around the skirt, it really helps. The bite was HOT. No need for shiners, fats worked just fine on a dead stick. If you don’t have a wheeler the drag is pretty easy, just plan on walking quite a ways. Most people are out over a mile. Our best fishing was in 10′ of water. Good luck!
Ohh I can promise you he is teats up right now! Was a slow morning for him today. He couldn’t wait for me to go to work so he could get back to bed.
Spent the weekend down by Fairmont. Corn is around 50% picked. If you can find any CRP adjacent to standing corn, make sure you walk that 75 yard swath closest to the corn at 9 am sharp! I swear them roosters have a watch and know that 9am is coming! Below is Duke and I with one of the roosters from this weekend. Hunted all day Sat and Sun, we flushed 60 total birds (4 guys 1 dog). All public land.
You do not have to be over 60 to use a CB during the MN gun season. Anyone can use a CB during the gun season, assuming they have a firearms lics.
The over 60 and/or Doctor Approval CB hunting only applies to the Bow season.
This is how I have understood the regs.
Tomorrow the 28th works, any way we can push it back to 7pm and give folks a chance to get home from work and or dinner hour?
I’ve made that run before. 1/4 oz jig or smaller will work, depending on current location, tipped w/minnow works just fine. Bigger eye’s are usually just outside the mouth/lakeside, you will see plenty of boats anchored up. If you want number’s work the river. Boat launch will be a zoo so plan to get up early if you don’t want to wait in line for an hour plus. Good luck and repot back.
Since we bumped it to 12 teams, what are your thoughts on expanding playoffs to 6 teams? With only 4 teams, half the league could be out by week 10. Just my 2 cents.
It is just a glare from the comp. Here is another pic of him without the “line”.
More proof that Southern MN is where its at
Second pic is still one of my all time favorites!
Hand cut fries! Salt em up and let em cool while you finish the fish. Just make sure you sample a few, never trust a skinny cook!

I’ll be hitting the ice for the first time this year on Saturday. Any luck last Friday Tim? Plan is to hit Fletch early and on the ice before sun-up. Can’t wait!
Got back from ND yesterday. Spent 3 days hunting. Had 4 man limits each day. Saturday temp was 10 degrees. Had to break ice the whole way out. A lot of the small water is all locked up.
Ours are all crockpot meals; Roast spuds carrots, Wild rice soup, Chili. Set it and forget it. Ohh and as usual we always order up a few pasties from Michigan. You can’t deer hunt without an original pasty! Don’t you dare show up to deer camp without one!!
I’m heading out that way tonight! Migration is in FULL swing. Should be a great weekend for dustin’ mallards!
DT- I’ll be out in ND a week from today. Any reports out that way? This warm weather needs to GO!!!!
That’s one heck of a buck! Nice work, and can’t wait to see the footage.
