ive heard some swim baits work more effectively if you cut it above the tail for a more life-like action.

well guys, just found out my wife and mom went in together and bought me the 6500c3/8′ glowstick combo from cc. gonna sell the spare reel to a friend or keep it around. not sure. hopefully combo gets here by my bday, saturday, so i can line up the 65 lb. powerpro and give it a shot. never casted a baitcaster so should be lots of fun, haha.

yeah, im gonna be pairing it with a 6500c3 that i already have. so the 8′ paired up with it should make a pretty good channel/flat combo.

good info. when i fish for bullies, its usually worms out of the garden or bits of crawlers. but i have caught many of them on corn, hot dog skin, preserved minnows, and even a couple on mini marshmallows. if you dont want to stop to buy crawlers or what not, try anything, it could work. first bullie i caught was on a white gulp minnow that smelled like glue.

i dont think i’d ever use a bullhead trap. i actually enjoy catching them on ultralight equip. its always a good time, with me and my buddy competing for who will get the most.

my sister went to como today, and she said there were a few people out there.on a side note, the lakefinder on the dnr website shows small abundance of channels in there but a lot of stocking of them. the survey was done in 2001 though. is there an adequate supply in there?

this brings up a question that i have. when fishing for bullies, i seem to get a real bad hook pretty often. have been thinking about using some small size circles when catching them. would these work well on the bullies like they do on the bigger fish?

hey guys, my 1st post on here. lot of you guys know me from the other website round these parts. i just wanted to chime in and say how lucky i am that my best friend is always out catching shad in the vermillion and freezing it, so i never have to buy it or get it myself. havent done much catting since i just barely started last year, but i want to try and give chicken livers a run this year. are there more specific times to use them or is anytime a good time to try? hopefully some of you guys will be down at MR on sunday, as i am hoping to make it out for my first time this year. later

    Brian
