tswoboda, the second link you posted is a fantastic article on the different reproductive strategies bluegills take based on genetics.

I didn’t know that not only do the “sneaker” and “mimic” males grow smaller, they also live much shorter lives due to their genetics. They will NEVER become larger to take on the bull bluegill role. I always thought (wrongly) that the smaller “sneaker” and “mimic” males will slowly grow larger and become the bull bluegill.

I’ve been out on Fountain Lake for the past week and have been catching some bluegills and an occasional perch. I’ve just moved to the area so I only know a few spots. An easy access is at the public beach on Fountain, but everyone knows this spot and it can get crowded.

First post here, but I found deal at West Marine where they have the Garmin Echomap Chirp 44CV for sale at $250. Its the same unit as the Striker 4, but with down imaging, mapping, and chirp. I got it sitting under the Christmas tree so I can’t give you a user review on it yet but I plan on using it on my small boat and on the ice. I think they only have one unit left in stock though.
