And my friends wonder why the hell I drive up to Rainy or Kab all the time…. Easy to get away from the morons and psychos up there.

Had mine for 4 yearsand still use it constantly. Great for fishing, great for all kinds of stuff.
August 16, 2017 at 7:20 pm #1710490I pinch barbs on every lure I own. I have lost maybe 1-2 fish where the barbs probably would have made a difference. Worth it to me.
August 14, 2017 at 10:53 pm #1710078This one, I use this plus 2 inflateable fenders from Cabelas. You’re not going to do better than that type of setup. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Hull-Hugr/737939.uts
August 12, 2017 at 5:50 pm #1709735Screw together 2 10×10 pieces of 3/4″ plywood. Drill a hole. Stick your pole in said hole(giggity). Piece of cake.

August 10, 2017 at 8:28 pm #1709476How about this one. I’d estimate this fish at maybe 35″.

August 5, 2017 at 10:42 pm #1708549Hey everyone, I didn’t get to fish on Namakan for more than 10 minutes because the kids were whining about it being too hot. I visited the Dr this week and did fracture one of my ribs in my fall, and it’s still bothering me quite a bit, but at least I haven’t sneezed for a few days : ) I threw together a video for the kids and thought I’d share. Note that this isn’t really my taste for music but I can’t throw a bunch of hard rock into a family vacation video. https://youtu.be/nayf7XzbTSI
July 27, 2017 at 8:58 pm #1706976Thanks guys, I flopped backwards in my boat last night due to a slippery vinyl floor(and being in a hurry) and landed on the edge of my rod locker. Can only only take small breaths and it hurts like hell to sneeze but I’d like to fish tomorrow since it’s our last day up here. I’ll let you know how it goes. Due to my rib injury I’ll probably be sticking to live bait fishing. I don’t care about not catching a lot but my kids aren’t patient like their old man.

February 27, 2016 at 7:17 pm #1602728I use these for pike fishing and throw some fairly heavy stuff. Love these reels.
February 10, 2016 at 12:50 pm #1599073I use my GoPro for fishing, jet-skiing, canoeing, waterslides etc. It’s great – one of the best investments I’ve ever made because you capture so many moments with your kids that you otherwise wouldn’t.
February 9, 2016 at 10:34 pm #1598965I just strap my GoPro to my head. I plan on buying some mounts for the boat this summer too. I occasionally throw stuff on YouTube, mostly for fun and to document the memories. I always add music because I hate the sound of my voice.

October 29, 2015 at 5:58 pm #1574114Nebraska fan here. All of us down here were sad to see him go. Had a lot of respect for him and he pretty much owned our previous coach. A lot of teams would be lucky to have the guy and his staff, including Nebraska. Seemed like he did things the right way from our vantage point.
October 12, 2015 at 6:29 pm #1570505They’re both great boats. I have been a Lund guy but I’m impressed with Alumacrafts as well. I’ll just echo the comments about HP. I’ll never not max out a boat again after having to have people move to the front of my last boat which was rigged with the min HP rating.

Windows 8.1 is dogshit. I hate it. Spent a grand on a new laptop and it’s a pile of crap compared to my old one.
October 1, 2015 at 1:45 pm #1568636Not sure what you mean. Looking at Merc’s motor testing bulletins the same size Lund (even heavier many times) runs faster with the same motor than a Crestliner, for example. What are you basing your statements off of?
You say “A boat very similar in style and shape and is heavier runs a max of 175 and achieves the same speeds as the lund with the higher HP.”. Why not list something specific instead of speaking in generalities?
Compare the 1750 Fish Hawk to a 1775 Lund Impact with the same motor and the Impact is faster. These are damn near the same boat.
Top Speed (MPH@RPM)
39.0 @ 6000 for CrestlinerTop Speed (MPH@RPM)
44.4 @ 5680 for LundI ran a 1775 Pro V and would hit 43 with it with 3 guys in the boat with a 115 Merc 4/s and my buddy who ran a smaller Fish Hawk with the 115 4/s couldn’t even hit 40.
If you’re comparing to glass then say so.

Thanks! Do you look for mid-lake humps that top out shallower than 15′?I would start there but many will be deeper 15-25 fow. I don’t fish much deeper than that as fish will die on the way up…
Thanks for the information! I appreciate it.
