    Len,

We had a couple problems with the Lynxville barge last year. Once we got on the barge we had a good time, it was getting there that was the problem. On 2 occassions we sat at the ramp with the bucket/flag up, after we stopped into your place and they radioed, for over an hour. On a seperate occassion they never came at all. We stopped into the Rock and the nice lady working was rather disgusted that the barge guy wasn’t there even though he was supposed to be open. Len, does Bill have someone that will be able to either cook breakfast at the barge or run the transport boat so that he doesn’t have the same problems? You and the other folks at the Falling Rock are great and very helpful and I am not disappointed in their service. I am concerned and don’t want to drive 2+ hours to get to Lynxville to have to drive to Guttenburg or Genoa. Is Bill still doing the overnight trips?

    Thanks,

I fished the float last Saturday, 3/26. The bite was not red hot to say the least. 3 Amish boys, my father-in-law, and myself each kept 3 fish a piece. We all caught Saugers, from 15″ to 18″. I caught one nice perch, 13-1/2″. Fish were caught on plastics and livebait. We caught a fair number of dink Saugers. Right before quiting time for the day launch, one guy caught a really nice Walleye, looked to be a 2+ lber. He was jigging a purple twister or ringworm on the rock pile in the center of the float. The night bite is producing some really big fish also. There was a 9+ lber caught the Friday night before I got on the float. The night float stringers were great, with everyone taking limits of nice fish.

    Good fishing,

How are you guys rigging yours? I rigged mine how it was suggested to me by Dave at B-Fish-N, paddle tail pointed up. Which way gives maximum action in the bait? I would agree with everyone else, Catalapa Orange/Chartreuse seems to be the hottest color.

    Be safe out there,

First post and I figured this was as good as any to jump in on. I go out to catch fish. I find myself using plastics much more than live bait. Even though I have put someone through their first year of college with all of the Super Doos and Ringworms I have purchased from B-Fish-N, I still take along a few minnows. Many times I throw soft plastics on one rod and deadstick or drag live bait on the other. Many times I catch trophies on the plastic and eaters on the live bait. Some days it flip-flops. I will agree that plastics are nicer to work with. No more cold hands and I can also change colors in a hurry. I just like that tug on the line and I will use whatever the fish hit on that day. I always start with plastics but I will switch to minnows if I have to. I don’t want to handicap my day of fishing by not having the right bait.

    Glad to be here,
