Up at the pond this weekend I watched a guy with a nice big glass boat try to back the boat off the bunk trailer. He had the motor revved up and in reverse and could not get the boat off the trailer. So with the boat motor still running at idle, he jumped in the truck to back the trailer into a little deeper water. I ran over to offered to help by holding onto the rope. He said he did not need help, but I still grabbed the rope! So now as he backs up and the boat is starting to float off the bunk trailer the boat takes off as it is still in reverse!!! Good thing I held onto the rope or it would have been boat!!!!!

i would probably just pick up a new receptacle, and rewire the whole thing in the largest gauge you need in any portion of it. so if you need 6 ga, just do everything in that. you will have to buy less wire than too.

bad wiring can be an absolute nightmare, and it sounds like you are setting yourself up for a headache one day, and odds are, it will happen when you least want it to.

probably won’t cost you more then 30 bucks and an hour of your time.
