I agree with Don, just want to add that something happened along the way to frighten her. Your job is to start slow and end up with her associating the loud noises (gunshot) with nothing but good things!
I also like to use treats to start. Don’t start with the loud noise right next to her.
Have someone help, and when you hear the noise, make something good happen (treat, throw a dummy, throw a bird, etc). Slowly get closer to the source of the sound and keep up the positive re-enforcement. If she shy’s away at all, increase the distance again.Good Luck!

March 20, 2007 at 10:55 pm #551119I just spoke with a Merc service guy on the plane and asked him the same question.
Basic answer is to stick with the marine formulated oil. They have additives to deal better with the condensation and type of use marine engines are subject to.
Sporting goods stores and marine dealers, or you could always order on-line.

What would an experienced rat like you be doing beaching your boat without someone to jump in and push you out???October 7, 2006 at 2:09 am #486626Hang in there Chappy…I lost one some years back. Hope it wasn’t yours, but if it was, I know what you’re feeling.

personally, I wouldn’t try to get on 169 until north of town. it’s usually a zoo.
I’m not sure of any construction either.October 5, 2006 at 3:16 pm #486024it is probably available for free on their web site.
I downloaded both of mine in PDF format.
September 14, 2006 at 2:39 am #478538The owners manuals state that up to 10% ethanol is not a problem. Does anyone know the effects of more ethanol??
I think the law makers were talking about boosting that to 20% across the state.September 14, 2006 at 2:27 am #478530Charlie,
With a name like that, it’s a good chance we’re related. I do have family that way, but don’t alway know what the cousins are doing.

September 12, 2006 at 2:32 pm #477766Thanks guys!
Have to say we missed all your BS (chappy and gator) and you didn’t miss a thing.
Finished 8th with a decent bag the last day. That was three days of the roughest water I’ve ever been on, so I was glad to hop in the car and head on home.
The boat repair trailer was the busiest place in town. Thanks to all you guys for a fun year!
My hope is they don’t change the format for the league, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Gator, I’ve got the top set ready for some cold weather outings….

BeerCoolerAugust 23, 2006 at 2:24 am #471539I stand corrected. Sorry Boone, I was under the impression they could.
To avoid interference if you have both transducers mounted on the back, you can ‘stop charting’ on the unit you are not currently using, and enable it on the unit you are using at the time. That way, only one unit will be sending and receiving at a time. The LowranceNet will allow you to share GPS data, and I assumed sonar as well. Sorry for the goose chase.

BeercoolerAugust 23, 2006 at 1:58 am #471532Boone,
I believe you can do what you want with the 334c and another NEMA 2000 compatible unit that you could network to a single transducer.Check out this link. http://www.lowrance.com/LowranceNet/LowranceNet.asp

July 26, 2006 at 11:14 pm #463992That’s what I’m finding…..No E-tec, no HPDI, etc…
Thanks for checking though Chris.
July 26, 2006 at 5:30 pm #463851It’s not easy to find 25″ shaft in that HP range. So far as I can see, I’ve got three choices.
Suzuki, Yamaha or Merc.
For my money, I’m sticking with Yamaha, and they don’t make a 175.Who out there has a deal I just can’t refuse?
July 25, 2006 at 9:13 pm #463567Way to go Ritt! Hey, you nipped me in the points, but I’ll be the one taking home the new boat.
Special thanks to Gator, Stick Boy, Buckshot and Chappy for sharing whatever it is they have to share….It’s been a hoot!
See you guys in MI.June 1, 2006 at 9:33 pm #450834Way to go John and Heidi! I’m not much on drinking beer, but I’ve moved several times, so I could lend a hand there…….Well, I guess ONE beer wouldn’t hurt anything…
March 24, 2006 at 12:14 pm #432879Cabela’s also has several on the shelf if you are passing by, and I would guess Thorne Bros. in fridley would also, but you should give them a call first.
August 8, 2005 at 7:57 pm #377100I hunted down there (10 years ago),there are stumps all over, so be sure to find someone who knows before you go out. On the main channel side (east) of the islands is fairly clean, but the north 1/2 end of Spring lake is a graveyard for props and lower units. I’m not sure about the south end. Plus, it’s always changing with the water level. Things move when it’s up and settle when it’s down.
June 1, 2005 at 10:11 pm #365840jbob,
if you don’t have dual freq ducers and don’t want the interference, you don’t have much choice but to ‘stop charting’ on one of the units. you can select this from the sonar menu. The deeper you go, the worse it will get as the cones will overlap more.
