From a few different sources I have read on walleye spawning habits one from a book and another from a study. The walleye spawning cycle is based some on water temp but a lot on the length of the day and time of year. That’s why walleyes seem to pretty consistently spawn around the middle of April. I’m sure it varies some on water temp if it’s a little earlier or later but I think it’s pretty consistent. This year it might be a little early but not as early as some might think. That’s just my two cents.

Is there any certain speed you have to set you Terrova at in relation to your kicker when you are using it to steer?

Thank you Woody. All I was looking for was opinions and information on how everyone thought the walleye population was doing in pool 4. From what I have seen it seems to be doing well.

I was just reading the other posts about how some people thought there isn’t the numbers of walleyes that there use to be in the river and I was just looking for more information and opinions. From my overall fishing expierience on the river the fishing seems to be good.

The fishing was alright. Waubay produced a lot of small ones. We caught a few nicer ones on Lynn. That would be the first lake I would try if I headed back out there. Opitz produced a lot of 14 1/2 inchers. We caught quite a few fish on all the the lakes but a lot of 12 – 13 inchers. We only fished a day and a half so take it for what its worth.
