Gus needs to be perfect for this team to win right now. Dude needs a break

I agree. For a large majority of this season, the improved goaltending is what has kept them in the hunt for a playoff spot compared to last season.

Agree with both statements 100%. This team isn’t in the playoff picture without Gus at all even kind of.

Rossi and Boldy are just invisible lately. Gus was way off his game. The defense as a whole was brutal. The amount of bad pinches looked like a coaching decision because the forwards aren’t getting anything much done offensively. And so many odd man rushes.

B-man, great topic! Am deaf as a stump from all the stupidity of youth. Can’t imagine the damage we all could’ve mitigated with just simple ear protection.

Classy by Ovi getting the whole team on the ice for Fleury. That was wicked cool.

Boldy got the puck out of the defensive end and he gets in front of the net and scores. The coaching staff needs to get him in front of the net way more.

Who came up with this idiotic idea? Stupidest thing ever!

Good team win. Thought Boldy had a really solid all around game. Gus is just so solid in net. Nice having Brodin back. Rossi had a good game. The 3rd and 4th lines played well. Am slowly warming up to what Trenin’s game actually is. How this team has dealt with the injuries and somehow keeps scratching out points is impressive.

If Rossi’s blocked shot injury turns out to be more than just a bruise and keeps him out for a month+ like Brodin, then we need a serious friggin sage cleansing of the locker room with all the bad juju we’re carrying around…

    X10!

    Another nice win.

Isn’t Kirill’s injury history a bit of concern for giving him whatever contract he wants? I don’t know… the situation is looking like a mess right now and starting to feel like lose-lose.

Would really like some clarity on KK. Is he coming back or not???

    What’s your alternative?

There is none. Just throw bags of cash at him till he says that’s enough. Then hope it pays off.

Selling hope is like selling manure that’s still just crap in the cows and banking that the magic beans yet to be aquired will produce, and writing checks based on their hoped for yeild when the manures still in the cows and the beans aren’t even in the field yet.

Remember the good old days when the Wild could score more than 1 goal?

Just to clarify, I mean more than one goal iper game, not per week. But sadly, it could be interpreted as wishing for more than one goal per week. Ahhh, seems like only yesterday…

This team is allergic to scoring.

The one goal last night was a total blunder by Hofer.

The blues could’ve easily won that game 6 or 7 to zippo.

Thought both Rossi and Faber had rough games last night.

Hynes needs to try Boldy in front of the net. Not Boldy’s fault. But having Rossi and Vinnie as your net front presence on the pp is an absolute joke.

Had a weird one a while back doing something similar and it was the main ground on the outboard under the cowl. Never hurts to clean a ground, even if it looks good.

    Tough OT shift for Faber

    How dare you.

Rossi and Faber defending on the ot goal were far from stellar.

A points a point and ever point counts.

Freddy and Jojo had good games.

Tough to watch that OT… 4+ minutes of possession and 1 chance.

Watching Boldy’s hockey brain work 3 on 3 is an experience, both for the fans and his 2 teammates on the ice…

Big extra point last night with Vancouver losing, thx GusBus!

It sure is an experience. Thought Boldy was actually really good last night. Would be nice to see that effort 3 out of 5 games vs 1 out of 5 games.

Am fine with BG. Am fine selling hope for now, it’s all they got and all they can do. As a 52 yr old hockey fan born and raised in the state of hockey, just gets frustrating. There’s been a lot of hope sold over the years and it tends to fall on deaf ears after so long. Put in the stars leaving and then winning a cup only adds to the frustration.

First off, don’t have high expectations for the post season even if KK and Ek are 110% healthy and seamlessly are at top form coming off their injuries. To be totally forthcoming not sure both will be back for the post season. Hoping they do, but am from Minnesota and have the yips with anything post season related.

Gus kept them in another game where they were heavily out played late in the game.

That penalty for boarding was laughable. Yep, he cross checked him and the dude folded like a sheet of wet toilet paper. Merrell beat the living crap out of one guy late in the game and must have cross checked the guy 5-7 times way harder for a good 15-20 seconds. And no call.

Not sure what’s going on with that Freddy/Zuc/Jojo line, but wowzer that line is playing very well. Not Jojo or Freddy’s biggest fan, but they are actually doing a lot of good things lately.

The 4th line is definitely better.

Boldy’s brain lapses are back. Do like he’s trying to get more physical. But my word as big as he is he can’t win a board battle to save his life.

The whole team needs to get better at getting out of the d zone and start dumping pucks deep for better line changes.

Not sure how they are staying ahead of the curve right now with so many pieces changing.

A win is a win and how they keep getting points is bizarre with the injuries and the constant line juggling.

Chisholm has some good plays, then some awful ones. Same with Middleton and Faber lately. Merrell is who he is and all be it not a top shelf d-man, he’s doing enough to get the job done more often than not. Not a high compliment, but he is what he is.

The current Rossi line needs a net front presence.

Gus has been solid and fighting through till the end of games. Wouldn’t say he’s been 100% stellar, but he’s playing pretty darn good overall.

Nyquist definitely helps this team and hopefully he can get so chemistry going with Rossi and Boldy, just might take a bit of time.

Was a fun game to watch last night vs that Boston game. That Boston game was about as boring as hockey can get.

With how this team has played this year with all the challenges it’s been a frustratingly fun year to watch them fight through all the challenges. Hopefully they can somehow work some magic and get through the first round. Not holding my breath but still am hopeful once the cal hits are gone this team has a bright future. How many players are watching this team fight through all the adversity and going i Wouldn’t mind playing with those guys knowing the cap hits are off the books soon? With the core group, the goaltending capabilities and the young guys coming up and what the coaching staff has done, am pretty impressed with this team this year. Doesn’t mean the postseason yips aren’t still there and have no grand illusions of making a deep run, but been a fascinating year watching this team.

One of my biggest concerns is Spurgeon in the playoffs. Love the guy to death, but once prison rules go into effect his lack of size is more than a little concerning. He physical just can’t move guys like Bogosian, Middleton or even Merrell can with their size. That sounds so dumb, but postseason whistle swallowing is real late in games. And Spurgeon has never played well in those scenarios.

Hats off to the coaching staff, players, and Gus and Fleury. It hasn’t been easy or pretty, but they are still getting some hard earned points under less than ideal circumstances.

    Tank for draft picks.

Um they don’t have a first round pick.

    Exactly!

Hopefully we give up a bunch of assets and draft picks in a futile attempt to get past the first round for this year and this year alone. F the future, it’s all about this year, cause this team is bound to get past the first round this year. Not sold on doing anything dumb to try and put a patch job on this season.

Not 100% sure KK resigns here and honestly ok with that. 3rd year in a row injuries late in the season. That is not a good look for him or the medical staff on this team.

Ek injury riddled again late in the year.

Center’s don’t matter. But constantly losing important draws does. Never seen a team who can’t win an important draw ever. How can a good defensively minded team be so pharking awful on the pk for going on what, getting close to well over half a decade now? It just doesn’t get touched at all.

Totally agree on the blow outs. It’s like the whole team took the night off mentally last night.

This team has done some fun things to watch this year, but this is nothing more than a first round exit team.
