Think they drained the puck luck bank account dry in Toronto and Montreal. Can’t blame any of this on Gus. Could be 7 zip pretty easily right now. 11 shots on net, yuck!

Fleury is a treasure! Pretty fun, cool game to watch! Hockey is so different than most sports.

Nice to see Gusbus get back on track!

He had a great game with many chances point blank. Lapanta made a comment about him playing well tonight and was scored on about 2 seconds later. Announcers making those calls are the equivalent of saying shutout out loud.

    X2!

    It’s like clockwork!

Boldy needs to take about 10,000 1 timers this offseason… he’s missing out on 10+ goals a year because he either whiffs or misses the net on 1 timers…

Been saying that for years now and he’s just not improving…

Yep, he’s so talented but so brain dead at the same time.

Can a team turn down home ice in the playoffs? What a difference between home and away.

Good effort from the team as a whole. Gus was definitely not fighting the puck tonight. Marat’s effort has always been there, but definitely helps him having his line mates finally start doing something. Not loving Spurgeon and Chisholm together. Not Merrell’s biggest fan and he’s got his warts, but he’s been,..and I hate admitting it…he’s been tolerable at times. Love Rossi and Ek’s willingness to get in front of the net. Ohgren is slowly looking better. Defense pinched a touch to much tonight for my Swedish genes liking. But a win’s a win. A couple lucky bounces and will take them and yet again another road win.

Spawning conditions and survival rates, along with weather conditions and grocery availability for fish control way more than harvest and regulations could ever control. Doesn’t mean lakes don’t get “fished out” because of pressure. But you can’t regulate spawning conditions or the success or failure of a year class by adjusting limits. If that was the case we should shut lakes down to any harvest or open them up without any regulations. Man does impact fisheries, but spawning conditions and habitat are part of the cycle we tend to ignore in the fishing world. It’s more similar to waterfowl and upland bird numbers being tied to nesting conditions than hunter harvest. How we as fishermen and resource agencies almost gloss over the spawning habitat issues and conditions is mind boggling. And focus everything on regulating limits and angling techniques is only part of the equation. The diary of yours is interesting that even in lakes with little to no pressure there’s still issues that follow the natural cycle. Great post and interesting stuff dealing with 60 years of personal data. Thanks for sharing that!

Will be interesting to see what that does to the Av’s this season and in the future.

That was pathetic and embarrassing all the way around. Not impressed with whatever the he’ll that was at home, with KK and Spurgeon back. Am all for flushing bad games, but that effort is deserving of a serious arse chewing. Don’t mind losing, but that wasn’t just losing. That was lazy, sloppy hockey by the whole team in front of your fans, on your ice, who paid good money and were excited to see KK and Spurgeon back. Probably one of the worst games I’ve seen them play all year. F- no no f’in effort at all.

230$ to ship a hockey stick via fed ex. Now if we all want to get mad about something let’s talk about that.
    On to my next option.

All things considered and hate moral victories, but to keep it that close missing the players we are, that wasn’t a horrible showing. Had ample opportunities to score but just couldn’t finish. One goal off our skate and one off Freddy’s stick on a back check, that is just sucky puck luck.

The cameras or feeds were painful to watch.

WTF was that from McDavid? Are the Wild just a magnet for cheap shots lately???

Ek shadowing him was comical. Gunna be a spicy 3rd.

KOC is Denny Green 2.0. No ability to adjust and a team that’s not prepared and can’t execute. 2 weeks in a row. Same song. Different verse. Of the same Denny Green song.

Yup, 7 step drops, long developing routes won’t get it done with the pathetic O-line..same as last week.

Yep, 2 weeks in a row, not a single adjustment.

The gas tanks been on empty for to long and they are outta fumes. And can’t blame them. The 4th line has been brutal. Gus gave them a chance. Hung with them but there’s nothing left in the tank in 3rd.

A lot of lessons learned last night.

    They can win without KK.

    They can win without Middleton.

    They can win without Spurgeon.

But they can’t win with both Faber and Brodin out. Go figure.

Was a good slice of humble pie for the whole team. Thought Boldy had a good game, but he still needs to shoot more and be consistently more aggressive. The Chisholm goof up was pure exhaustion after a good pk kill. Not going to rip him to hard on that one. He knows how dumb that one was and don’t see him doing it again. Thought for his first game in a wild sweater that Jiricek did pretty well. He definitely was nervous. His willingness and instincts offensively look good for his first game. Can’t wait to see him once he gets more comfortable and with a good blueline mate. Gus wasn’t great but the team left him hung out to dry. The Av’s will punish you for that and did.

Not much for moral victories but the first two periods between some bad puck luck around their net and a major defensive goof up, thought they did pretty d@m good keeping up with them with the fab four missing. Then the wheels came off and the d@m broke.

Told the wife and one of our kids this felt like it was going to be a 6/1 game at the start. Through the first two thought we had a slight chance and I was way off with the prediction.

All the points they’ve banked sure is nice to have those going through a tough stretch or two. This team has played way better than anyone thought, especially with all the injuries. Rolling through all the different injuries “might” be a good thing come playoff time. They sure have fought through a lot of them and know they probably aren’t a cup contender, but been an interesting season so far. Here’s hoping they can get healthy towards the playoffs. But with the way this season has gone am not expecting it.
