Thanks for the reply. James just replied to my question on the fishing web, and he said that it’s in the works, he just has to look at the samples. YAY!!! I think it’s going to be awesome. I asked him if they were going to have baby/toddler sizes too. (not sure if you would need it or not P )

Me personally, no. And it’s not because I’m a woman. I can shoot like the rest of them, but no, I have heard stories of babes sitting there while you dress the Momma and I just couldn’t stand to see that. I know that’s usually with bear cubs from what I’ve been told but I just couldn’t do it.

But, I think explaining this type of story is better left to mom and dad, or someone they trust. The people that raise and or understand the best way to relay the message to that individual child.

I have to believe most hunting families have talked about this incident with their child, if not, they should. I also have to believe that every parent explained or will explain it differently, the best way they know how to get the point across to that individual child. This is great.

    Birddog,
I understand what your saying about this whole thing. I for one have kids. And sometimes kids listen to others a little better when it’s coming from someone else. Now don’t get me wrong, my kids listen to me and their Dad, but sometimes, they listen a little better from someone else. Not meaning that they would listen better to Anthony but just someone that has been through this or has known someone that has gone through it. I know some of Anthony’s family. I work with them. They have to deal with this as well. Anthony and his wife and his other children didn’t just lose their son/brother but the WHOLE FAMILY lost someone that they love. Now, if my kids are going to learn something from all this and other future hunters, then I say “great, let’s not let it happen again”. EVERY HUNTER has to be aware of everything going on around them.

Again, it’s just not Anthony that’s going to have to live with this horrible accident, it’s his son’s whole family.

ok, I noticed no women have replied to this one, so I’m going to reply. If I have to go, I just go where I want to attract the deer. I think women attract the deer in different ways then a guy would (if you know what I mean). If you have a girlfriend or a wife, you do. I’ve had good luck with it. Sorry if it sounds gross.

I’m not sure if your son took the class yet or not, but the Gander Mtn. in Forest lake has them. Dan Porter teaches the class. Awesome instructor and guy. He also works there as well in the hunting/gun area.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been on this site, I’m usually on the fishing site. But it’s nice to have you on this side as well.

oh, I forgot to write this. Back in May around Memorial weekend, my friend, my oldest son ,and I witnessed an albino deer hit a mini van that was going about 55-60 mph. The deer died a couple of mintues after we arrived to help. The Sherrif’s department asked if any of us wanted it (there was a few other people that stopped to help also) and I asked if I could have it. I had asked the Sherrif if it was a true albino, only because the nose was black. A true albino deer would have no pigment (is what the sherrif told me). But if this deer was out in the woods…NO I would not have shot it.

Funny, she wants to sell it to Cabelas & make a few bucks. Really meant alot to her, for a once in a lifetime deer opportunity….

seems a little fishy if you ask me!! If she didn’t want it, then she shouldn’t have killed it. This is what makes people against hunting.

Bear hunting is awesome. I like to eat some of the bait while I’m setting it.

We’ve been there. their prices are good. And when we went there, they had some yummy candy hearts. Alittle for the bears…alittle for us.
We also have been to Ladysmith,WI…this farmer has good prices too. PM me and I can get you the number and address if you want.
