Side note, I lost my cover last season and just replaced it with a Cold Snap. That thing is awesome! It took a short learning curve where to place the blades while snapping it down, but I’ll never go back to a bungee one.

The snap is where it’s at! Have one on my Ion, first thing I’ll get when I get a new auger.

Not being a smartazz, but is the 20lb tank open? Sounds like when you bleed the 1lb, all that comes out is the pressure in the 1lb’er, and nothing is pushing in from the 20.

So it seems like it’s not getting liquid from the 20 into the 1, or it is not venting as it should. But you knew that.

What is the chance there is water somewhere? Either snow got in a valve melted and froze, or albeit less likely, water in the 20lb tank freezing on its way to the 1?

When I’m in mine I always like to keep a fan on it.

During the day – pending sun’s out – can you keep the door on the south side?

Nothing like having to burn a hole in a snowbank at 3am with the door froze shut!

You should be hearing air (propane) vent out the entire time of fill – is that happening?

The other option I’m considering is one of the roll-on garage floor epoxy coatings, which would probably be the easiest and most durable once I get the carpet up.

I’d look into the epoxy idea a bit before pulling that trigger. Will the epoxy stay pliable enough to handle the temp swings, or the expansion difference between itself and the subfloor? Plus the flex of the house itself.

I’d hate to finish it off, then find it start flaking/chipping away.

What I’ve done to help is lower house 3/4 of the way – drill holes being careful to leave shavings in place when you punch through. Lower the house on top of the piles, insert hole sleeves, then pack slush that is in the hole around the inside of the sleeve.

Then drill extra holes outside for some shavings to “bank” a little more…

I’d go with the rubber. Seems that the carpet always stays damp on the bottom due to condensation with the cold subfloor, much less when it gets wet from top. Fish house is naturally humid with the open holes.

After having both, ive come to the conclusion if you insist on having carpet, just run a remnant down the center. That way you can take it out to clean or just change color! Once you take the remnant off the rubber floor, you’ll see it’s likely damp underneath.

    A quick search:

Minnesota DNR Says They Are Rewriting The Rule.
The DNR in the comments said that they agree that automatic hook setters are no worse than tip-ups, and that they are actually in the process of writing a permanent rule to allow the use. They hope that it will be in place for next year’s season.

Palomar – pretty simple to tie, too.

Look up animated knots – pretty good demo of how to tie almost any knot.

Plus there was always the “December to remember” when you gift your significant other a Lexus because, you know, you should.

The bow they used was more than what the wife and I gave each other combined. We don’t buy stuff for each other because we’re expected to…

At a minimum – move onto fresh ice with no holes under it. I’ve had the joy of chiseling a house out with 8″ of water on the ice.

Just when you think you can get to it to manage it – you cant…

Best bet to move it to shore if an option

Isn’t it just as easy to pull the rod out with the bail open? Even if it takes both hands? – unless you’re talking about using it with the hooksetter- not legal (yet) in MN anyhow…

If you’re using it with the hooksetter, then by all means – grab and reel!

I have 2 and won’t go back to tip ups…

One that’s been going over big at my place is to cut chicken breast into bites – 1″ cube or so. Season with a good BBQ rub and let them set while you cut jalepenos into rings and bacon strips in half (shorten). Put a pepper on each chicken, wrap with bacon, pin with toothpick, then into smoker. Sauce em up before taking off. You’ll be lucky you find any toothpicks!

I recently put on a set of BFG Trail Terrains. Not long enough for a review.

Thought I was set for Duratracs based on reviews, but noticed the siping only went 1/3 way down the lug. Unless they changed them and I saw a previous version?

    An extension cord…

…from the cord reel you hang on your garage ceiling plugged into the only open socket in your garage! Reach up and pull – instant extension cord!

    Mpls city council

The new fee, championed by Council Member Robin Wonsley, would have charged the 36 biggest emitters in the city $452 per ton of carbon dioxide. In a news conference Wednesday morning, Wonsley said the fee would be “one of the most meaningful steps we can take to combat climate change.”

So charging for carbon emissions doesn’t affect climate change?

    Got it.

Well, if we’re charging $452 to “combat” it, why don’t we charge $452,000 to solve it?

Just a different way to say “follow the money” – where is that going?

Look into getting an “ice machine” for your shoulder. Beats ice packs. The one I used also had compression to help with the inflammation. Velcro to hold it in place, quick to connect/disconnect. They aren’t cheap, but it’s definitely falls into the category you can pay as much as you want. Amazon is full of them.

The only rod holder I have is a Belle. whistling

Yeah – but is any drilling required? Or optional?
