Just helped a buddy put a garmin on his boat. Went out with him to verify we had the transducer set correctly and I was surprised at how grainy the Garmin side imaging was. You could still see structure and cribs and shadows but it did not come close to what my past humminbird 1198 produced or what my current Lowrance HDS Live 12 produces. If you plan to add livescope Garmin it is. If not I’d look at humminbird or lowrance for just side imaging.

I added a Garmin UHD73sv last year and feel let down by the SI images. Very grainy and difficult to see subtle bottom contours or fish. My Humminbird 999 has much better SI images, even when viewed only on a portion of the 9″ screen.

That’s been the theme… the wild temp swings are making the bite more inconsistent than usual?
I skipped Saturday because of a really good crappie bite. Didn’t even have to get the boat out either!
Sunday last week I went out alone and only had 4 fish. I guess I “should have been there yesterday.” roll

16* and very windy at our gentleman’s start of 9 AM on Sunday. Tough going for us also, worse than it was on Saturday afternoon/evening. Felt a little better when we heard that was the story at the launch and via texts from friends (again). It has been a very, very slow March so far… switching over to panfish for the upcoming week.
Some timber is still making its way downriver, be especially careful out there, the water is too cold for swimming.

Bump… Retail prices for these baits are $15, $7 and $15. Save more than 25%!
The Lucky Craft is discontinued also.
These colors worked well for me, just need to thin the herd a bit since I mainly fish the Mississippi now.

I agree with the recommendations for Seguar Blue Label. A short section 20-25 lb test works very well to prevent bite offs.

“Castable” 15 lb fluorocarbon gets bitten off too frequently when I dont add a 4″-6″ section of leader material.

Straight braid doesn’t stand a chance, maybe 65+ lb would. Pike teeth snip through braid like scissors. Abrasion resistance is not braid’s strong point, especially against sharp things: rocks, zebra mussels, esox teeth, etc.

Colors available in the 350 (9′-12′)
Aurora Citrus (Aurora colora are very metallic, with a color shifting, oil slick type sheen. “Moves” even at rest.)

Gizzard Shad (Olive-brown scale pattern back. I like it post-spawn for largemouth, mimics a baby bass.)

Black Moss (Black crackle back, silvery scales over yellow, slight orange belly.)

Delta Craw (Crayfish color with a deep red belly, Very 3D effect when swimming.)

TO Chartreuse Blue (This one has been the go-to for walleyes on P4 for us. Keeping all the 250’s in this color.)

Mad Craw (Matte finish crayfish pattern. Very rare color.)

    More 250 colors:

Chartreuse Black (this one has been super hot for walleyes over the last month on P4. Has a touch of orange on the belly)

Firetiger (A proven classic in dirty water.)

MS Crack (MS colors are very flashy, with prismatic scales. The pattern has a gray back with glitter, the MS scale pattern on the top and chartreuse “cracking” through)

Sexy Chartreuse Shad (A modern “classic”)

Aurora Brown (very metallic, bronze back, gold loin fading into chrome with white belly)

Snatcher (Versatile color. Covers the midwest forage well: perch, sunfish, and baby largemouth)

I am working on adding photos of the color patterns. Here are the colors available in the 250 size:

Splatter Back (Black back, white body, chartreuse belly)

Nasty Bluegill (Very realistic bluegill pattern. The largemouth love to hate this one.)

Table Rock Shad (Purple back, white side with loads of silver flake and a hint of chartreuse. Has produced a lot of walleye for us.)

Peacock (Chartreuse scale pattern back fading into chartreuse with a touch of orange along the margin. Ree/orange throat.)

TO Craw (Very lifelike crayfish pattern. Traditional eyes are painted to march body, but the bait features eyes on the back–in the same position as a swimming crayfish.)

They purchased VMC in 2000 and currently own:
    Rapala
    VMC
    Storm
    Suffix
    Luhr Jensen
    Blue Fox
    Williamson
    Terminator
    Mora
    Strike Master
    Dynamite
    Carp Spirit
    Water Queen
    Tortue
    Ultrabite
    Willtech
They hold 49% of 13 Fishing and 50% of Shimano Fishing in Europe.
As well as a few “gift” companies in Europe and China, knife manufacturer Marttiini and ski manufacturer Peltonen.
They also own numerous tackle shops with a large online sales presence, mainly in Europe (Guigo Marine, FishCo, Fun Fish…)
I am probably missing a few.

Pure Fishing and Rapala combined nearly form the industry.

Unknown to the general public, there are specific circumstances when the military does alter GPS. Probably not what your experiencing.

During the campaign when trump flew into wi, I saw my gps jump about a mile, then fluctuate.

The current chatter in the industry is the widespread inaccuracies are due to a Sony datafile and the year 2020 actually having 53 weeks.

Although they claim “selective availability” of more precise GPS signal ended in 2000, the military can certainly alter the accuracy of GPS satillites. They even have ability to affect/jam via false signals GPS in select areas.

That is the basia of another theory: it may have something to do with the threats of an attack by Iran as there are reports of inaccuracy on devices not using the Sony chipset.

I fish the same areas, sounds a lot like emerald shiners. Sometimes they are so thick the kids can scoop them with the bait net.

Or maybe grass pickerel… I caught white bass on the river that puked a really fresh one last year.
