Go pick up a movers dolly at harbor freight. When you get to the ice lock it to a tree or sign. It will also help for sliding your shack around in the garage. You can get them for about $20.
It is well worth it. People will tell you its simple to make but its done for you. I leave the harness on all day and just unhook. Get it you will not be sorry.
Go to the Stanley steamers web page. It may cost a little more but its worth the look. If they can get out all the stains and dirt the money is well spent.
Cut a lemon in half and drop it in. Run the disposal. The oil from the lemon skin will lubricate the disposal and the lemon juice will get rid of any smell. Don’t run the water while doing this. Let the lemon sit in the disposal for a while to soak into any remaining fish flesh stuck in the disposal. May have to repeat.
Careful something like this may be illegal in the state of Minnesota. Has to do with the spring action as a hook setting device. Sounds like a great idea for Wisconsin fishermen.
Never herd of people using braided line on their downriggers. I have only seen cable used. I may be misreading your post but I would double check with the manufacture of the downrigger. Make sure you are not mistaking braided stainless steel wire with braided line.
Check at your local department stores (target, shopko, FF, home depo) some of these stores have drop off boxes. Also check your local hardware store. The boxes will be marked for the energy efficient bulbs (the curly ones) but I would think any bulb with mercury in it would be accepted.
If your shack is tall enough use the ceiling hanger heaters. They will keep the heaters out of the way. Also less likely to touch the heater with your line. Even in a big shack like that you will always wish you had more room. Bigger shack means more people that will want to fish with you.
I bought the vz825sd camera last winter and with the flat screen and with no sun visor the only time I could really see a good picture was in a dark shanty. I could not use my camera while sitting in the open even on a cloudy day and it looks like the same video screen on the Lx 7. I would wait to buy one until I saw it on the ice on a bright day. Personly I dont think you will see the graph.

If you keep your tank hooked up all the time a small amount of gas will leak out through the regulator. Brought mine directly to jiffy and thats what they told me the problem was. They should have put an on off gas switch or knob on the unit. When your pressure runs low it does sound and run like its being choaked out. Just switch the canister over to your heater and all is well.
