4 – 31’s and one 27. But it looks like 5 31’s would easily fit.

So I have the 60″ shaft and its too short. In 2 foot waves the motor is out of the water every time the boat goes up and down. Every time the front end drops the prop sucks in air and it vibrates like crazy. Just a heads up to anyone looking to use this set up.
February 5, 2021 at 7:33 pm #2012512A few years back the first day of fishing season a buddy and I were catching and releasing walleyes one right after the other. There was a boat about 100 yards away watching us. Then a boat pulled up next to the other boat and I could hear them talking, “go over by those guys, there catching a bunch….” Well the guy with a ranger started heading over, you could tell he was looking at his locator to see what structure we were on. he kept getting closer. I told my buddy if that F’r gets any closer I’m going to throw my lure in his boat. Well he kept on coming, I was tossing a 3/8 oz jig and I wound up and let er rip. The jig landed in his boat right behind the driver. His passenger saw the jig, I reeled up the slack and jerked it, the jig came up off the floor and hit the driver in the shoulder. I dropped it back on the floor and then ripped it again and it shot over the side and landed in the water. The guy jerked around and said “Hey!” I said you hey! there 3500 F’n acres of water here you don’t have to fish in my F’n boat!. He grumbled a little and then sped out of there. Then his buddy joined him and we could hear them again..”did you see that SOB, he threw his bait right in my boat….”
I laugh my ass off to this day. The bad part is the dickhead still does it. If you are on a spot he’ll come with in casting distance and anchor. Last year I was musky fishing a hump with my spot lock on. he comes toolin across the lake to walleye fish and I tossed a bulldawg right in front of him. I don’t know if he saw it but he kept on going and went to a different spot. I could have stayed there till dark but I moved and sure enough he went over to it.

September 5, 2020 at 6:29 pm #1970803Thanks Dave, do you know offhand what cable I would need to purchase to connect to the 360 to run to the battery?
March 12, 2020 at 3:31 pm #1922406I personally think both Marcums quality and customer service suck! I had an LX5 that was sent in numerous times because of screen shifting/motor issues. There were times I’d get it back and it would do the exact same thing within minutes. Other times it would work for hours before failure. this went on for a number of years before I finally sold it and bought a Garmin. I should have known better, but this winter I purchased a Marcum Mission camera. I used it once, worked fine, charged it immediately after use. A couple weeks later I took it out, the screen would turn on and after a few seconds would shut off. At home I checked and the battery was dead, and would not take a charge. Either the charger wrecked the battery or the unit drained the battery and wrecked it. I tried to fill out the warranty/registration online to get instructions on sending it in. I kept getting a message something to the effect that “my serial number wasn’t recognized..” Maybe it had something to do with the fact that my unit had 2 different serial numbers on it
I then emailed and the customer service person said I needed to return the unit but that I needed to send him a copy of my receipt so I could register it, even though I had just purchased it a few weeks previous.
That was it for me, I guess I’m a little slow, but I finally woke up. I just returned the piece of crap to the store I purchased it from and bought an Aqua Vu!
Never again! If anyone is thinking of buying a Marcum product I would seriously think about it as your LAST choice.February 17, 2020 at 6:45 pm #1916011My UPS guy showed me these many years ago. I have used them countless times over the years to get out. In fact just today I got stuck pulling my job trailer down a drifted road. Glare ice under the snow, Shoveled out around the tires, slid them under the front tires and crawled out. Awesome!
November 14, 2019 at 8:53 pm #1891060I built some a fews year back. Put neoprene in the knees about 1/4″ thick or so. great for kneeling on hard ice and waterproof
April 4, 2019 at 3:32 pm #1848388Interesting topic. Years ago(guessing 15) I started to have issues with food getting caught in my esophagus. I always ate super fast, just scarfing it down and then washing it down with liquid(usually soda). meats, and bread the worst. It was weird though, sometimes I could eat almost the whole meal with no issues and then suddenly it would stop and I’d have to either try and force it down with liquid, which is painful, or just trying to puke it back up. Sometimes it would take 10-15 minutes to open it back up. Then finally one time I got a chunk of steak caught, and I couldn’t move it for a couple hours. I couldn’t even swallow my saliva. Finally i went in to the emergency room and they kept me overnite because there wasn’t a doctor in the house that could do the scope to remove it. The next morning it was still stuck, the doctor grabbed it out of there, and looked in my stomach and said she saw some irritation but apparently wasn’t alarmed, because nothing was prescribed. Basically just told me to chew my food better As time went on it progressively got worse, more frequent incidents. Then a friend of mine had the same issue, almost had to have the scope one nite but after a few hours it dislodged. On his follow up they discovered a ring of scar tissue and they went in and stretched it out, and put him on omeprazole and he’s been fine since( a few years). So I went in to get it checked out, doc scoped me, saw irritation, but nothing serious, put me on Omeprazole. Now before this I RARELY had heartburn. if I bought a jar of tums, it would literally last for years. A week after I started the omeprazole, I had heart burn so bad I couldn’t stand it. A couple weeks later I went back in and was prescribed a different PPI. Ranitadine maybe, same result. I needed a colonoscopy so the doc did that and stretched out my esophagus in the same visit. problems swallowing gone, but the third PPI prescription did the same thing again, heartburn. So I completely gave up on the meds, its been about a year. But I am starting to have issues with swallowing again at times. Nothing severe yet, usually just a few seconds to get it down, but I’m sure its again getting restricted.
I’ll have to try testing my ph thats interesting. I actually will be visiting my doctor soon and will see what he recommends to address the GERD.
I actually read a study on PPI’s something like 50% got the drug and 50% got a sugar pill. It stated in the study that a large percentage of people who had no symptoms before the study, took the PPI meds. and actually got heartburn! Apparently the PPI can cause your stomach to produce MORE acid! I’m no doctor but I’d say I’m one of those people. PLUS studies show the PPI’s can lead to Dimentia. My dad has advanced Dimentia now, so I’m probably at higher risk. No Thanks.March 1, 2019 at 7:30 pm #1839720I had the same issue when I first started using them. I bent the end hooks around to make a closed loop, then installed trebles with split rings. Hardly ever lose one now.
Moonshine minnows have a better hook also
January 29, 2019 at 6:30 pm #1830726here is what i use in my boat, just buy a cigarette lighter socket at auto parts store cheap.
January 25, 2019 at 7:32 pm #1829491Thats awesome! what about hooking up some sort of funnel you could put over a heat register in your house to introduce a small amount of heat, or plumb in another pvc that could draw heat from inside?
January 19, 2019 at 7:42 pm #1827626drill a hole in the aluminum tube and insert a small screw to secure the plastic
November 7, 2016 at 7:33 pm #1649294good info stan, I would have bought a dual pro but couldn’t find one close by and I wanted to get the charger on the batts right away cause I had used the boat and was going to use it yesterday eve too. One thing I saw on the MK too somethig about “equalizing”, but I think it was only on lead acid cells, have to look into it on agm’s do you do that on yours throughout the winter?
November 6, 2016 at 8:08 pm #1649075another update…I called pro mariner and left a message on saturday that I wanted to cancel the order(hopefully it hadn’t shipped) I then drove to the nearest minn kota dealer that had one in stock and picked up an MK 330 PC.
so far so good, easy to hook up and set for battery type.
DT, I will maintain the batteries no matter what but don’t you think it would be better to take inside vs leaving in cold?
I was thinking if I took them inside and charged once a month it would be better than keeping them outside and keeping the charger on full time? seems it would be easier on both batteries and the charger. what do you think?
November 4, 2016 at 10:33 pm #1648865in the summer I fish enough times that I could probably have the charger shut off after 24 hours and I’d be fine till the next trip, and then in the winter I could just have it turn on once a week to maintain. Do you think that would be OK?
November 4, 2016 at 10:05 pm #1648859yep 3 years and toast. thats what I figured…batteries were probably good…charger failed.
What would you suggest as far as charging. Should the batteries be charged everytime I use the boat or should I skip charging it sometimes and not leave it plugged in all the time? can you elaborate on the timer suggestion?
November 4, 2016 at 9:48 pm #1648854makes sense, I have left the batteries in the cold throughout winter with the charger plugged in for 3 years. I wonder if that ever hurt them if they were frozen and the charger kicked on? a couple years ago it was way below zero for a spell.
I’m going to take them out this winter….pain in the arse cause they are 75 pounds each and I have to turn them a couple times to get them out of the compartment.
maybe I should just insulate my garage and keep it heated LOL
November 4, 2016 at 9:06 pm #1648847iowaboy, thanks for the info. Most of the new chargers claim to have systems that monitor and only charge when needed. Is this false? It makes sense that the charger isn’t needed all the time throughout the winter, but what about in the cold is it best to keep plugged in or best to remove the batteries and keep warm?
November 4, 2016 at 8:26 pm #1648844yeah, just been looking at some reviews, sounds like a minnkota or dual pro would be a better choice. Maybe I can send it back? I think you are correct the charger failed and then toasted the batteries. the new gen 3 sounds like it has better safety features but now I’m not sure.
November 4, 2016 at 7:37 pm #1648836update to battery/charger issue
I took the batteries back to batteries plus, they tested them and confirmed they were both shot. There is a 4 year full replacement warranty, so they replaced them at no charge. I didn’t want to use the old charger if it was the cause of the battery failure. I called pro mariner and asked if there was a way I could test the charger, they said put all 3 leads on to a good fully charged battery, plug in charger and test voltage, they said it should be 14.7 while charging, and then when “ready” it should “maintain” charge at 13.3 volts. so I hooked up to one of the new batteries today. When I first plugged in charger it went all the way up to 16.9 volts for maybe 20 sec. and then it dropped to 13.4. I thought maybe 16.9 was high? I called back and they said yes it seemed too high of voltage. I said “so maybe that is what wrecked my batteries? He said possible OR your batteries failed and that caused the charger to fail? They offered me a new a new charger shipped to my door for about 80.00 less than a new one, seemed like an ok deal plus I didn’t want to risk wrecking the new batteries.
Anyone have any insight on what failed first? the charger or the batteries? what do you think about the 16.9 volts on charge?
February 2, 2016 at 6:38 pm #1597417After using the shelter for a few times now, I would make a couple changes. The d rings for cinching down the cover, while durable are a complete pain in the butt when wearing gloves, I will replace them with an adjustable buckle for much greater speed in opening and closing.
When using ice anchors with a drill driver, the holder grabs the corner loop and winds it up on the holder, I am going to add brass grommets to the loops to prevent this. other than these minor details I really like it.
January 29, 2016 at 10:54 pm #1596625took mine on the ice today for the first time. Very impressed. easy set up, the insulated floor is awesome! I have the 3T and it heats waaayyyyy easier/faster than my much smaller clam legend thermal flip over. Must be because of the floor. excellent light inside once the sun came up. I like it much better than a dark shack with windows. It would be nice though to have windows on all sides just to view whats going on around you. The windows are very smart though, velcro in and velcro cover so you can open for ventilation as well. One concern would be careful of carbon monoxide with as well as everything seals. the trap door for the propane hose is a nice touch also.
The floor is slippery but its easy to dry off when home. I think if a person had a small brush rug and cleaned off boots before stepping in it would help keep it drier inside. I haven’t seen another pop-up that compares.
January 28, 2016 at 9:36 pm #1596409Nice fish no matter how far away and what type of lens. Its a shame that they are killing them though, could be released to get caught many times again.
December 30, 2015 at 8:43 pm #1588556does waxing the skis help? When I pull mine I can hear it chattering as it slides through the snow as if the snow is packing under and sticking a little. Never was a skier so I don’t know if wax is to make them slide easier or grab a little when skiing
