I actually installed it to my riser on my sled. I had it on the dash but it did bounce around some at higher speeds. I use mine on remote trips into lake trout lakes in Ontario and love having it here. I have two plug set ups. I strap a lithium battery just behind it for fishing all day but have the other plug to run into the cig lighter for the long runs so I am not running down power. Mine has worked perfectly on the front like it is and I use the transducer just off the side and fish with it on my sled. I have the little handle bags attached that I drop the transducer in when I am running around. Good luck!

Two buddies and myself are thinking about making a trip down to check this area out next weekend (March 22-25th). Anyone we could contact for tips for even a guide for the day to get into the crappies like on the show? We planned on heading to Dryden from MN, but the slush conditions don’t look too favorable. I tried to find the guy James was fishing with but the website he has for his pro stuff doesn’t have a contact email. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The 50 pushes me about 31 with me and another person in the boat. Add another couple mph when I’m solo. I adde a hydrofoil on the motor which helped some too. I added a couple photos from last summer of it if anyone is interested in taking a harder look. I have it stored inside now so can’t get current pics as of today.

If it were me I would recommend slow trolling beetle spins on the inside cuts of weed edges at about .7 miles per hour for crappies. I hug the weed edge and don’t really cast that far behind the boat. 1/16th oz this time of year. I used this in Nw Wisconsin for years and hit lakes by Brainerd, Grand Rapids, Rainy lake, and even Leech last year middle of the day. I hope this helps.
