Cory Caruthers in Des Moines is very good. I think he also makes frequent trips to MPLS. He has won many awards and did a walleye for me.

Don’t know why you couldn’t use the largest one you can afford. I think I have a 512 in mine

This was postee on iowaoutdoors. Thought someone might be interested.

I’ve decided to concentrate on other hunting pursuits and would like to get rid of several items. All items were used sparingly for two seasons and never moved from my basement in the past year.

12 – Higdon full body Canda dekes – eight feeder style bodies, four standard, a majority of the head are feeders with some sentry/greeter heads $13 each or $130 for all

12 – Higdon stackable Canada Shells – original metal stakes are included $10 each or $110 for all

1 Final Approach X-Land’r laydown blind in Shadowgrass – pristine condition, mud was applied to the outer fabric but is otherwise in like new condition $140

I live in Cedar Rapids and would be willing to deliver if in the area or meet half way if some distance is involved. Email me at shknuts at hotmail or through the site if interested in any of the items. Please put ‘goose hunting’ in the title of your email.

is it normal to only have the radio work when the acc switch is in the on position. Even when the engine is running.

I have a gamehide camo lightweight coat that I wear all the time. Quality is great. I have lots of hunting clothes and I can say that this is my favorite. 100% waterproof

Try taking your seat to another Target. As long as itis in within 90 days you should be able to return it. Target destroys them at the store level and then is reimbursed by the manufacturer, not to go off, but this is one of the reasons your $20 car seats cost $100. As for the salvation army, Target is not allowing them in front of the stores due to the fact that if they allow them they must allow everyone and anyone to stand in front of their stores or they could risk a law suit for discrimination, there are areas of the country that would literally have 15 organizations blocking the entrance to the building. Its not that they don’t want to give to a good charity, in fact they will give over 100 million back to their communities this year. Go to their web site and look at how much has been given to each of your school districts in the form of cash to use at the schools discretion for people using their Target Visa. There are no longer hunting and limited fishing dept in the stores because the clientel that Target caters to is not who would be purchasing this product, Target needs to answer to their shareholders and unfortunately there is limited profit in these areas so for those reasons they have left it to the Cabelas, Sheels, and other to specialize in this area.

I was talking about the dam where sailorville empties into the des monies river. I’m off tomorrow so I think I might try some pheasant hunting around Polk City on the public ground and then maybe try fishing the river below the dam on the way home.

Tried it last week and no luck. Has anyone tried below the dam I would think the walleyes would start to hit soon.

thanks for the info guys. JJ like you said I went to an archery shop in Altoona off the interstate and told them I was new to the sport and just wanted to get some basic info and knowledge of my bow and they acted as if I didn’ exist. I then took it to Sheels in West Des Moines and spoke with their bow person who was very helpfull and had over 15 years of bow experience so all in all I guess the big retailer won out over the privitely owned shop this time. Too bad people don’t realize what good customer service can do for a business. Thanks for the help guys and I’m sure I will have more questions later

thanks for the info guys, I’ll keep it in mind when I go. Am considering going to Osakis or Miltona the end of Sept. Do any of you have any advice on either of these lakes. I know Miltona used to have 13 resorts on it and now is down to 3. Has the fishing let up that much?? More resorts to stay at in Osakis but not sure where to fish it.
