Has anyone had the cracking issue on a single console AC? Seems all I see posted about are full windshield boats. I have a 2017 competitor 205 single console with no issues.

Yes, the brand new 165 SC I saw on the dealer floor had 2 cracks that started at the windshield mounting bolts.

Last weekend I saw a 165CS brand new on the showroom floor with this issue.

I’ve got a feeling that with such a inventory shortage the manufacture and dealer aren’t to worried and know somebody will buy it as is.

I know one guide in Manitoba right away told customers he won’t be issuing any refunds. I’m not surprised, I had a less then stellar experience when I went with him. I imagine he’ll lose some customers but I think he’ll have new ones to replace the lost ones.

I would primarily use them for ice fishing. And as we all know the cold is hard on batteries so having a compact walkie that you can keep warm inside your jacket is nice.

I think I have the lower power version of the radios Grouse linked. And just like him my buddies gave me a hard time until they started using them.

Also please be aware that this year they changed the regulations regarding transporting of fillets. If you zipper a filet each individual piece of meat counts as a filet.

Yes, residents pay the AIS fee with our registration. Leeches are walleye candy up here.

Pulling spinners, slip bobbers in trees and of course vertical jigging are some easy go to strategies.

The wind can make DL nasty. There are quite a few boat ramps to use to avoid the wind.

If I’m feeling brave I’ll pull a spinner a foot above the snags near shore with the rod in the holder. And pitch crankbaits towards the shore line.

You can have 2 lines per angler in the summer. 4 in the winter.

You see several Nitro 21’s on Devils Lake. Several guides and others. Friend of mine is on his 3rd ZV21 and loves them.

I think part of the reason is there are two good dealers in the area. Woodland Marine in Devils Lake and Tracker Boat Center in Fargo. We all know how important dealer support is.

I know the decision has been made already but I thought I would mention there are quite a few boat ramps around Devils Lake. I think you can usually find one out of the wind.

If you’ve never fished Devils before, prepare to donate 1/4th of your tackle to the lake and watch out submerged trees. The problem is that’s also where you’ll find the fish.

i’m still on my original Ion batteries from 7 years ago, still cut through 25 holes like butter yesterday and only dropped 1 led. I store them indoors year round, always top them off after use and throw them on the charger for a bit once or twice during the non-ice months…

I still remember all the flack us original owners took on how we spent so much money on an auger with a battery that will only last a season or two max… We’ve been instantly & quietly drilling holes ever since… )

Mine is an old one like yours too. Lots of haters out there but like you say, I just keep drilling. The key is to keep the original green battery warm the newer black 5ah batteries aren’t as temp sensitive.

If you’re after Lake Trout, talk to Eddie at Lakeridge. He’s a guide but also very helpful. I’ve been out there twice in the past year and both times I didn’t fish with him but he still told us where to fish. And he isn’t BSing when he tells you where to fish. He also has lodging at Lakeridge. Their website is okay but they keep up with their FB page pretty good.

I just got 2 2000’s and 1 3000. I haven’t even had the chance to fish with them yet. I’ll report back but I think a long term report would be better. And I plan on using one of them for Lakers through the ice too.

How did the trip go? I’m doing a last minute trip out there.

    Nevermind, found the fish report.

You can also talk to your local Boy Scout chapter, I know some of them will take flags and go through the proper way to dispose of them to educate the scouts.

    I agree with eyeguy54.

My philosophy is if they take care of the flag by not letting it get tattered and dispose of it properly I have no problem with them having it unlit at night.

And yes M.C. Winther some of us do have thicker skin.

It’s called track point interval 1, 5, 10, 15, 30, 60 second intervals are the choices. For me on the snowmobile it’s handy to know where I crossed pressure ridges and where the trails are if its a white out.

What I’ll really miss is my tracks. I use the Helix 5 exclusively on my snowmobile and it was nice to be able to glance down and make sure I heading back the way I came. Cuz you know 5 minutes after you ride in the wind kicks up and covers your tracks.

The breath deflector mask on the skidoo helmet is what makes it so effective. I’m not sure other have this option of not?

Just thought I would add that. I looked at the Hjc and unless im missing something I dont see that they have the mask.

I don’t think they do the breath box as a separate piece like they did on those original modular skidoos’s. It’s built into the helmet as part of the chin part that rotates up. I just looked at 6 different brands on Dennis Kirk and none of them have that skidoo style breath box.

Great info! I remember when those helmets came out, I thought they looked like something a fighter pilot would wear.

The HJC’s have caught my eye.

One day last year when it was -22F and the wind was lightly blowing I only wanted to set up once and not move. I set up on a lake that holds more tiny perch than you can count and I was right on top of them. The difference is they were hitting, I could’ve caught over 200 tiny perch with ease but I wanted some bigger ones. I up sized everything, I used a 1/4oz jig and the fattest fatheads I had along with a bobber bigger than necessary. It worked like I hoped. Only big perch would eat the big bait and I waited until the big bobber went under. I didn’t even bother looking at my Vexilar because there were perch stacked up there the whole time. Just thought this might help when dealing with those pesky tiny perch.

You need the Vexilar gimbal mount and the adapter harness, unless you want to cut wires and connect them yourself. Then you drill holes in the gimbal mount and bolt it to the shuttle. I did it this summer. LOVING the LOOOOONGER battery life!

I’ve been waiting to see a list of vendors and now they finally have it listed. I’m planning on attending. Hoping for a deal on a Striker suit.

I will admit the TV coverage thing was dumb. It was on Midco which is in my area but I don’t have cable and I can’t even get it living out in the country. I had to listen on the radio just like the MN fans.

UND runs hot and cold, when they’re hot they seem unbeatable but then other times they may resemble a dumpster fire.

An employee at my local Cabela’s in East Grand Forks, MN told me that Eskimo and BassPro/Cabelas had some kind of a falling out after Bass Pro got involved and Cabela’s will no longer carry Eskimo products. Disappointing.

Can confirm. I talked to an Ion rep at the Fargo Scheels Ice Fest and he said Ardisam and Cabelas/BP couldn’t make a deal.
