I’ve filled my lines with RV antifreeze the last few winters. Zero issues since I started doing that. Keeps it lubricated and working well. I wouldn’t want drain plugs because I’d never remember to put them in prior to launching!

I installed my MK2-DC in spring of 2012
It allows me to spot lock on Kab for a week without access to electricity to plug in the AC charger.
It has never been an issue with the charging system.

Eyekatcher or anyone else!! Need some help. Going to instal the mk 2 dc for an upcoming rainy trip. Where do I tie the purple wire into the ignition circuit? Yamaha 115 4 stroke! Thanks to anyone who can help!

Good luck. Market is flooded with used t-motors. Everyone is upgrading. Want to actually get it sold, more like in the $400-$500 range.

    -J.

I see zero on the first page of the for sale section here and 3 24v trolling motors for sale on Craigslist in the metro. Not exactly flooded but of course a lower price will get things sold faster.

I got in on the beta before it came out and it worked pretty slick. Even got a free zero line card for doing the beta!

I hope people actually share useful data on this! There wasn’t many guys in the Midwest on the beta so data was limited. It worked pretty dang easy though!

Thanks , I think I might get by with just the i pilot.the biggest issue I have is when I on a troll and me or one of my kids gets a fish on by the time the fish is landed I’m way off of my depth and in the weeds , just having the spot lock might solve the problem. Just hit spot lock when fish on and then resume when ready.

That works, but the motor still runs to maintain position so you could get lines in the prop. Best to pull all lines.

I don’t think the I-pilot Link add-on is available for Powerdrive motors.

Best to use autopilot to keep course while trolling. Autopilot and spot lock are my most used features. I do use follow the contour some but not as much as autopilot.

Mid teens for depth and prayfor wind.

Just got back yesterday. This was certainly the case. Days without wind was a struggle. We scrapped some together to keep us entertained but it was hot in the sun and slow with the fishing. When the wind blew we did much better. Leeches dominated for us behind a Lindy rig. Lots of fish in the 15-21ft range. We got a couple bigger fish with one at 26.5”. That was on a slip bobber at dusk in 8ft with the wind crashing the water in the rocks near Pat Smith. With the east wind on Sunday we caught quite a few on jug and fox island. All in all a pretty good camping trip with some ok fishing. We would prefer better fishing but we are forced to schedule in advance now a days so we cannot pick our weather. We have been going all over Kabetogama, Namakan, and Crane for 15ish years now so we are thinking of heading up to rainy to change this up next year. For this year, I’ll be back in VNP for at least on more trip this year, likely in October.

Thanks for the recent reports. Any further reports this week? Heading up Wednesday to camp for the week. I’ll report back when we return.

Yes, found one near me at a dealer. It does come with the open/closed rod.

Have you found a replacement valve? Do they still come with that plastic rod to open and close?

I finally figured out what happened. The open/closed valve for the front livewell cracked and broke. Need a new one. They are plastic and cheap and used in lots of boat brands. Front livewell valve on the competitor 175 is under the battery tray.

Does anyone know where the built in cooler drains out?

Replaced the line in my navigator years ago. Yep, took up the floor. Main floor in the boat was easy. Under the front deck We ended up having to reach up there. My line was split under the gas tank under the main floor. Entire line replaced.

Thanks, Mike. That’s kinda what I figured. I think I’ll just block it at the three-way near the rear so I can still use rear livewell. That’ll get me through until I am able to get it in.

We haven’t ever gone to the Canadian side. We plan to take on day to fishing Canadian side and another day to head over kettle falls to fish both sides on rainy.

Anyone ever use the lakemaster chip on the Canadian side? Is it as accurate as the US side?

I like the changes of not having to report if only boating over. However, other than rainy river spring time (plastics), how do you guys get bait in Canada then? If we head to The Canadian side of rainy on our annual trip but we aren’t allowed to bring live bait which would be enough for me not to cross. Not much interest in trolling. How do you guys remedy this? I’m hoping that I am missing an easy fix here.

For sure that water is way down there. My pic was from maybe 3-4 yrs ago on that site. I think early June 2015. I’m so ready to get back up there this summer!

About 90% sure this is the dock on depth finder island. One boat on each side.

I’ve stayed on depth finder island several times! One of my favorite spots! The docks isn’t too bad. We were easily able to get two boats on it last time.

I’ll be up there about the same time. Pm me when time get close and I’ll sennd some great spots for bigger fish.

I doubt the 9 will fit a soft lack. You can always build your own or buy a genz box for it.

The same transducers that work with 5 or 7 work with the 9. Software on the 9 may be different and not have the new ir or flasher modes.

Yes. Tent camping. We do lots of tent camping for 3 of the 4 seasons.

Only way we would cancel if it was going to rain everyday. Camp every year for deer hunting as well. Lately mid-Oct has been beautiful weather.

Wow…well that could be another lesson for other’s too. You first posted here on August 11 what you were thinking about and on August 27 you decided what you wanted and bought the 185. And then were fishing with it on Gull Lake this past weekend. I think of some other’s that had posted here about ordering a new boat at the boat show and then having to wait months with the delivery date continually pushed back. Who knows…maybe some are still waiting? ???
So in little over 2 weeks your thinking about what to get and now you’re already out fishing in it. Might be something to consider for anyone thinking about ordering a new boat.
    Very nice rig BTW!

2018 models out on the showroom floor now.

    Is it 4×4? Which engine?

    Good luck with selling.

Yes. Sorry it’s 4×4 and has the 5.4 L v8 engine in it.

I might be interested. Have most of the miles been traveled in Minnesota or Wisconsin?

Yes. All the miles I’ve put on it.
