i use tuff line xp off my musky reels. 65-80lb test. always use a leader of some kind so the thicker line helps keep it from cutting fingers
September 11, 2013 at 2:29 am #1194246Can am I have a maverick but the commander is quite a work horse. lots of power. I would test drive a few different models and see for your self. Use to be a die hard Polaris fan but now I would have a hard time ever leaving a can am. The commander has a nice bed and a small storage compartment under the bed also. The side by side are a blast to own you’ll love whatever you find.
September 1, 2013 at 5:56 am #1192346i believe that steve said they have a test drive offer on there limit creek rods also. Might be a good trip to try a rod for a day. Great place great service! Very nice rods have to try.
August 15, 2013 at 11:54 pm #1189846is there a decline in flathead numbers? honest question not . I have thought to be blessed with a good to better than most flathead fishing on pool 4.ive only fished flats for 5 years. I do keep a few to eat.(usually smaller 2-10# fish) never even close to the limit. Is there a high number of guys keeping big numbers of these? Was there better fishing in recent past?
August 7, 2013 at 3:41 am #1188185I also make my own. Get my blanks from fly rod tippets from st. Croix. Work great!! When ever I borrow one out it tends to be hard to get them back. I like a longer rod and most that are carry a hefty price tag. Have used a buddies thorne brothers sweetheart 32″ and liked that. Cant wait for ice!!

June 15, 2013 at 12:35 am #1177960a white willow bladed spinner bait has put quite a few walleyes in the boat cast shallow in the backwaters especially good in non current areas. Often put a bfishn tackle plastic on the hook. If you can keep the northerns off they tend to last longer. Have also had some luck on erie dearie with crawler on
June 14, 2013 at 3:49 am #1177807Also own a hyber net nice net but in below freezing conditions it can be a pain. Also a tutorial on using before hand for fishing partners helps. Mine has held up nice got the longer of the two. Handled walleyes great but it is not hook friendly. Jigs with stingers or rapalas I tend to hand land unless its a larger fish.
June 14, 2013 at 3:44 am #1177804adrians very nice people and cabins are nice. If you get there newest addition it is very very nice pine interior flatscreen and gas fireplace. Best of luck fishing.

April 30, 2013 at 1:32 am #1166789my 20ft deep v champion trailers better with fuel in front tank verses rear. My rear tires squat a lot more with both tanks full. Boat holds 55+ gallons of fuel usually try and keep five gallons in rear and run off front tank. Still chew tires up. Best seems to remember to rotate tires.
April 26, 2013 at 11:23 pm #1166158One of the greats of country cant help but turn it up when he comes on. RIP George Jones ill have a couple for you buddy
April 26, 2013 at 11:20 pm #1166157Have had a few side wall bubbles that forced replacing tires. Would like to hear what if any brand is better than the goodyears? Like the tire and agree I have gotten three to four years on each set. Never blew one up but have had the side wall problems. Run at 50psi but tires always seem to squat a little more than i like. Also back seems to get chewed up faster just try to remember to rotate.Dual axle trailer 20ft deep v champion.

April 26, 2013 at 12:44 am #1165939all fish from 2013 we did very well on walleye also 15 fish 26″ plus biggest in boat at 29.5″. Also my sister lost one eye pushing 31-32″.Lost a couple nice sturgeon while walleye fishing. Walleye averaged 40-50 a day. Best day had over 150 with three anglers. Have never fished sturgeon much on these parts(vidas-frontier) but were able to put a decent bite together.
GOTTA LOVE THE RAINY!!!
