    I have both, The LX7 is hands down much better sonar for ice fishing. I use the helix for the GPS for finding my spots.

    Yes, you can access the lake, but with the water level being so low this year you may have a tough time navigating the Chanel with a large boat.

    Have them add a trip wire to the tip. Cost $15. You will love it!
