Fishing was decent. We got smallie in 8 to 18 feet of water. Most fish came on drop shot with a 4 inch purple worm. The other fish came on popper in the morning. Water was 85.

For a super clear lake I was surprised at the warm water temps. Very pretty area.

I had this this issue/opportunity last year. Growing family and needing to drive more kids around than my F150 SuperCrew could handle. I run a 20 foot bass boat and needed a vehicle that could pull safely and haul more kids.

We have a Hylander, AWD not FWD, and it is a really nice driving vehicle with the tow package. I would not advise ever towing my boat based on the reason shared above.

When I was shopping I looked at what vehicle could handle a larger towing rating, have a strong enough engine and has 7 seats. This left me with the Tahoe, Yukon, Arcandia and Durango.

The Tahoe and Yukon felt too boxing and small inside cabin. (meaning my passengers would feel cramp) and I also didn’t like the 50K starting price.

The GMC Arcadia wheel based felt too short for me along with the new body style I didn’t like. Drove nice

In the end I went with the Durango RT model that has the tow and Hemi engine. This has pulled my boat well, allows for additional load inside and have not seen any sagging in suspension or drive. Overall the mileage isn’t great but from what I hear most Dodge’s aren’t. Towing or just driving it seems to get about the same. (my car sounds cool…Hemi) I am happy with the vehicle.

    Just my 2 cents.

If you are asking us you already know your answer as your Conscious is already sending alarm bells and hoping that we say don’t worry about it.

In the end you are going to be one to live (or forget about) with this.

Thanks for all the help BK.

We planning on trying theocks yesterday but ran into motor problems that we are still working to fix. (We believe it was clogged fuel line)

Needless to say we did not make the trip but hope to in the weeks ahead.

I heard though that a barge got stuck in the sand below the lock and people waited over two hours to get through so….

    Thanks again!

    That’s great to know–thanks.

As mentioned (and with my very basic questions) do barges run throughout the days even on weekends? (Sundays) or do they tend not too because of the added traffic that is out there?

    Thanks again!

Thanks for the detailed reply—My boat can go ~65mph although I don’t expect to be opening it up like that the whole time.

In looking on the Corps website I am not finding a lock schedule for the coming days.
Would it be safe to say that you are able to lock through when/if there is enough boats? Is there any consistency in when the locks are running?

    Thanks!

I am hoping Waconia is open for Free Driving ;)

    Minnewashka is no wake
    Medicine is No wake

What’s good about having a fast boat if you cannot use it?? hahah

This water level sure keeps the crazies off though

Well, I ended up double aerating the whole lawn, threw a ton of seed down and then some starter fertilizer.

I called another company and they came out and told me that sod won’t work if you don’t fix the soil and if you are fixing the soil, you should just lay down the seed and let it come in normally.

Doing it this way saved me close to 500. I’m excited because my lawn looks like it has really been worked over. (in a good way)

I will keep everyone posted on how this turns out—I’ll hope for some mild temps and some nice rain over the next couple of weeks.

    Thanks for the feedback.

My yard is pretty small in back (20 x 10) and then I have the sides of the house and the front has some patches.

Last year I threw new dirt down and applied seed and started to see some grass come up. We had some work done in teh abck and now the backyard looks pretty rough.

I am not against hardwork but am willing to pay to have it done fast if the results happen.

Basically I want a nice looking lawn!

Crappie Candy. It never stayed on the hook, whether cold or not. I never knew if it actually caught any fish,

I have a 1198 off my dash and thought that it would be over kill from a size standpoint. Well, its not. It is very nice to have a larger screen to see verything that is coming at you and being able to split the screen up into multiple views (si, di and gps).

I agree it is a lot more money but what you should be able to get out of it is the ability to much more quickly understand use your technology to find fish.

Either way on what units you decide to do, hb makes great units. I was always a lowrance guy but tried hb and am very impressed with them. Very clear images, quick processor and super helpful online forums and help.

    Thanks

Thanks for the report, thinking about heading up soon too.

    a couple of questions:
Was that good that everyone left or was it because the boats (your’s included) didn’t do too hot?
    How was the sub?

    thanks!

I would go to lowrance.com and ask this question to them. they will tell you specifically what you need and most likely will be able to get you a picture too of the hook up.

I would say it is a decent deal. my pov would be to stick with a lg, pana or Samsung brand. vizio is a decent brand but I trust and see the difference with these other brands. looking at a big electronic store, there are this same deal and other one for the same price and less with the lg and pana brand.

Is this a new issue or has it always been an issue?

Is the color distortion happening all the time?

is the color distortion happening distinctively between teh screens or is there a gradual color differnce?

What is your chart speed at? is it matchi your driving speeds?

Do you have a thru the hull transducer as well as the ducer that came qith it? My thought is that the Y cable is lose and your unit ia struggling to figure out what ducer ti go with?

Is your transducer connected tightly amd in the proper angle?
