Limit creeks are nice for their cost (~$90) but their guides are a little cheap and the cork is somewhat low quality compared to the cork on st. croix rods that are at least avid and up. But again the st. croixs will run you at least $180 for avid and 220+ for legend tourneys and 350+ for the xtremes.

was in hudson for the morning. didn’t pick up any fish. marked very few fish on the graph. the few boats i saw didn’t put many fish in the boat either. won’t be back til water goes down a little or warms up a little.
Right now Rice Creek has tons of carps/ buffalo in it. You can access it by The Mermaid off of County Highway 10 just east of I35W.

Is it common for that many of the fish to have lamprey marks? Would you eat one with a lamprey mark? Wonder if it’s just gross looking or is it bad for you to do so.

Add some minced ginger to your marinade. It’ll give it a slight kick but not too much.

several years back a couple fellas perished when they overloaded their duckboat with some concrete debris from a demolition site. they were planning on dumping it in the lake for structure. but their duckboat capsized in freezing water. i dont recall if one or both of them drowned.

Yea the fall feedbag is definitely on.
They are very unreliable. I’ve also gone there and been dissapointed as they ran out of minnows. You’d think a gas station/bait shop next to the river would do a better job of stocking their live bait. Also, I’ve found some of their staff to be very unprofessional. One time- I had to net my own minnows because the girl that worked there thought they were “icky”.
The walleye bite has been very hot for me the last week around the full moon. Been on the water anytime from 2am to 4:30am. Fish were caught just as soon as I get to my favorite haunts just south of the construcion area all the way down to Hudson.
Before sun up I’ve been doing well with BFishin plastics and cranks. After sun up; crawlers on slow retrieve has been the ticket for me. Had some 20-30 walleye days out there. With most in the 16-18 inch class. Only keeping a few for dinner.
Slowed down some now that the full moon has past.
What I’ve noticed is a lot of time when fish are taking the plastics; they’re not actually inhaling the bait in their mouth. They are trying to pin it down on the bottom or stun it. I’ve had to set the hook pretty hard to get this kind of bite.
