I can do an ok job but a car cleaning by a pro is much better. Same as a house cleaning outfit. Robot vacuum, spa package, boob lift, tummy tuck, gift card to where she spends the most on herself? The effort involved, time you have, skill to do it yourself, and checkbook depth is the limit.

Speaking of goophers. My son has a 7th grade playoff fb game at 5:30 and the game is at 6:30. So we have 4 tickets (section139, row 31) plus a parking pass in the tailgating Ski-u-mah lot available for Sat. Oct 5 game. Shoot me a message if you are interested.

I had a hard time finding a shop that would do it and ended up having it wrapped. It saved a few bucks over paint but we’ll see if it holds up over time.

Great boat to fish out of and even better captain- thanks again for throwing the invite out here and gambling on taking a former stranger- I’m not that brave! The fog quickly disappeared this morning when I hopped in the lake with a bar of soap before the coffee was even ready. Fun and relaxing trip.

We’ll see if something like this gets any attention.

On the lower end it was 79.5 in the main and over 81 in some side channels yesterday.

Anyone been on P2 the last few days and got a water temp? Wondering how much it cooled with the rains…

…a rise sure would be nice, too.

Nothing a few days ago for flickers. I stopped to grab a thing of crawlers- zero, nothing in the fridge. Nothing in the minnow tanks but water. I had to ask a sales person to look up the price on any rod/reel I looked at or tackle boxes for my daughter. Same old gander- complete S show and waste of time and walked out without buying anything even with the ‘deals’ going on.

I wouldn’t mind finding a couple dozen more flicker minnows

Lakeville had a bunch when I was there last.

I had a heavy boat on a single axle trailer a few years back that ate a couple off brand trailer specific tires so fast I thought I had a trailer axle problem. I had good year trailer tires put on and they wore great for a few years and sold it with them on there.

Does Costco sell pork shoulders? My mom has a membership. Should have checked there.

Yes, they are usually sold 2 to a pack (boneless) and around $2/lb. for the last few years. I never see them on sale but use to always be a fair price I thought and would get a case every fall when it was venison sausage time. I have no idea what they are now- I’m afraid to find out.

I’ve been seeing multiple dead catfish floating on P2 every time out the last couple weeks.

I had a 5.0 short box and loved the motor but you really had to wind it up to get the power towing. Then went to a 6.2 F350 a few years for hauling the ice house and a few other trailers but it really sucked to drive around when you weren’t towing. Then went back to the 150 with a max tow, 6.5′ bed and ecoboost. It’s just too fun to drive, tows better, and impressive all around compared to the 5.0 I don’t think I could ever go back.

Not just fish that I won’t order out. Same with smoked meats/BBQ and steaks. I only order what I don’t normally cook myself.

If it’s pouring, you’ll still get wet

Send it back for a replacement. You got a dud/defect in materials. I have a challenger and pro suit. The pro is thicker, warmer, and will last longer but both equally as dry.

They’re very nice, especially if you get a deal. Oversize so you can layer underneath and it will extend the seasons you use them. They pack very small and perform well for me in AK in tough conditions.

I got stuck with a guy in my boat on a catfish league night back in the day. Even if the fish was hooked in the corner of the mouth you’d catch him fist f’ing the face off a flathead just to brag to his buddies the next day of the bigs ones he caught and show off ‘the rash’. What an idiot. Some people fish for fish, some people fish for #attention.

I’m in the process of doing this right now. I use my blackstone griddle in the garage year round and also fry fish every few weeks. In my last garage the ceiling fans would get pretty gross/sticky and have to be cleaned once a year not to mention anything that wasn’t in a cabinet. So, i’m in the process of installing one on a wall to park whatever I’m cooking with on wheels underneath when I need it and also to exhaust the occasional cig when friends stop by and it’s 20 below outside. Not sure it’s the best option but it’s what I’m going to try.

Well if we are going to drop some coin on this the only way to go is a commercial grade grill top hood, vent, and fan.

A $200 inversion table shipped to my door 10 days before a scheduled disc surgery helped so much that I cancelled the surgery after 4-5 days of use. Worth a try.

Kids or no kids- life is too short to be without a boat or several. Even a 14′ tin with trolling motor or a small gas is better than shore or the couch. IMO get SOMETHING. It doesn’t have to financially cripple a guy. It doesn’t have to be your dream boat. And it sure as hell doesn’t have to keep up with the Jones’s.

A few of the resorts on ML rent out their nicer skid shacks for the whole summer and seems to be a pretty cheap option.

I don’t really care what the manufacturer does for the majority of people- it doesn’t mean it fits me or how I need the boat to work. Just like carpet- I would never own a boat with it but yet some you can’t even order without it. I’ve never seen a boat that was perfect from the factory ‘for me’. There’s alway items to tweak. My current tiller is too wide to reach any electronics mounted on the port side without standing up and stepping in that direction so I mounted them on my side. And for a few of the reasons stated above like looking at the map while running. I don’t lake fish or back troll though either.

Then get ready for the 13 second fight! jester Seriously, I timed it on several red horse and that was about it when they quit pulling. Except for the hogs. Those can get exciting on light gear.

Yeah that’s what’s great about them besides being good cut bait- about twice the fight of your average walleye.

I’m moving into a new place in a few weeks that will require a new rider. It’s not a ton to mow but still haven’t decided rider or zero turn- I’m more concerned about having a bagger option because of all the trees/leaves. Can you only put a bagger on fancier zero turn models? I don’t see nearly as many options for that as a traditional rider. Thanks

Pork shoulder on sale for $1/lb. is about as screw up free as you can get when people are first starting out in the smoking world.

I have well over a dozen jig/sinker molds and production pour pots so I’d hate to see it all be obsolete. I have picked them up over the years to save money of course and give to friends/family so they don’t have to buy over priced junk. I wouldn’t care so much if there is an alternative. If you bottom fish/river fish for cat/sturgeon you need sinkers in the 2-6oz range on average. Lead ones sell for like $5 a pc. That’s why I’d never buy one. I guess a guy could buy bulk steel nuts/bolts on sale and donate to the bottom of the river or start drilling holes in rocks and epoxying a swivel into them for weight. Send me the link to a 5oz non lead sinker that isn’t the size of your fist or over $20 please.

If they don’t want my money that’s fine by me- and I might never go back at this point. There are far too many destinations in the states I haven’t fished yet. If you haven’t ever been- I suggest doing your dream trip to Alaska. I know it’s expensive, but it blows the socks off of canada and they DO appreciate your business. If you’re into big pike and think you need to go to Canada to do that you are forgetting about the tributaries to the Yukon river in AK and waters up around Fairbanks. Tons of big pike that never see a fly/lure.

Same as any holiday or busy weekend- stayed home and cooked. A little ribeye from the angus 1/4 I get every spring. The stuffed shrooms and twice baked oozed out and got a little sloppy looking but they tasted just fine. Thumbs up to the quality/size of snow crab Fareway had on sale last week.

If they don’t have a heated garage option you could also have them bring it to a dealership/mechanic to let it warm up enough to have them start it and do a compression check or run a history on the motor (depending on the age). Well worth the $100-150 it would probably cost.

Two thousand buys a lot of gas

Right now it does. I hope we can say that this summer or a year from now.
