If I’m missing something, please let me know, but I’ve never really understood the criticism of Granlund offensively. His role, to me, seems to be more of a playmaking role. Being on a line with some bigger guys like Jones and Koivu makes it seem like they just want to let him get pucks to the net allowing the big boys get the ‘greasy’ goals. I understand the problem of him not burying pucks in the back of the net, but he has been he best forward in my mind of the series for the Wild.
I loved watching this game. As you said Pug, play like that every game and I don’t care who wins.
Thanks all for the advice and thoughts, I’m definitely going to learn some more about my motor/motors in general in the future. It’s a little sad that it took this kind of thing happening to make me do it, but I guess that’s how you learn, one way or another.
As I said, lack of experience really might have got me this time.
I’ll make sure to add checking the oil every time to my list, assuming that I can get my motor back to where it was. The good news is, it’s an older motor – at least I’m not looking at thousands upon thousands in repairs on a brand new motor.
Taking the positives where I can get them at this point.
Mike, the oil injection comes from a large take under the motor housing, but I’ve never had to refill it despite checking it a few times a year. I must have not checked it for too long.
Hopefully what happened is that it just shut down without any oil and no major damage was done. Again, I’m not an expert by any means so I really have no idea.
Wild showed toughness and grit tonight, and the value of those two points goes without saying. I’m christening the Haula-Pominville-Neideriter line as the Torchetti line, since something he did has seemingly pulled all three of those guys out of slumps. Brodin and Zucker are both back soon, and this team could use them to carry momentum into some territory where we should get some points (Leafs, Sabres).
Chris Porter got put on waivers, per the Wild site. Must mean Parise is healthy and ready to play. The good news here is that the Wild are playing some cellar dwellers coming up, plus s big matchup with the Avs.
Wow. The Wild almost had at least one point there, except that Coyle was denied by Neuvirth on the grandest or larcenies. Disappointing to be so close, but we still have a few games in hand on the Avalanche with a few games still left to play against them. Hopefully they are the team we can catch to make the playoffs.
I know the Islanders are a physical team, but the Wild seemed like they just got beat down after the hot 1st. Need some physical players or just flat out tougher play to keep competing.
Pretty much Oneida and Vilas counties, since those have the best ice at the moment.
Watched parts of the game yesterday, loved the defense and loved not taking their foot off of the gas like in Colorado last year. I watched the postgame as well and saw that the Blues coach said that they won the first and third periods, just couldn’t catch a break. I didn’t see that at all, as shots were even in the first, then the Wild dominated the second and finished in the third. As well as this, St. Louis seemed like they lacked a little bit of discipline. Okay, a lot of discipline. If big hits are what it takes for the Blues to win, I feel like the Wild should do their best to keep moving the puck and frustrating the big guys like Backes and Ott into making bad penalties.
Also, I watched the crazy Blackhawks game on Thursday. They looked pretty damn good. Their backup goalie was that good with limited playing time? Their recent slump may’ve been a little bit deceptive, they could be a threat.
Let’s go Wild!
Uni to uni as well, has only broken on snags with heavier mainline and fluorocarbon.
Love my Crestliner Fish Hawk tiller, my second boat at around 17′. The added space and the boat control are totally worth it. Boat rides in 20 degree weather and high winds are not really hat fun though.
Don’t get me wrong, I love walleyes! But it’s more the crowds factor for me I guess. Thanks for all the suggestions!
I’ve never timed myself, but I have an interesting story from this weekend.
I was fishing with a friend who doesn’t own a boat and doesn’t know how to start mine, so I hooked up the obligatory rope to the front of the boat and handed it to him, then proceeded to launch the boat. As I drove away to park, I looked in the mirror to see the boat floating – with no rope attached. I walked/ran down to the landing and my buddy was holding a limp rope – the knot came loose. His first reaction was to tell me to “Go get it!”
Based on the 33 degree water temps, this was against my best interests, but we moved downriver and happened to snag the rogue watercraft with a tree branch. Fishing was pretty good, and no harm was done, so I’m satisfied.

Am I the lone Allman Brothers fan? Some of their songs can’t be played loud enough!
Loggins and Messina
Belletaine, you’ve got a fellow fan here, actually just saw a Govt. Mule show (with Warren Haynes on guitar) at the State Theatre downtown. Cool stuff!
Caught 11 total whites, kept 7 of the better ones between my dad and I. Joe and Tom were very nice, even let us use a few jigs and Joe’s TUCR Precision rod. Wow, that was sweet. Great trip overall!
Not really all that old, but was heading to a very small lake on some land my family owns in the spring, intending to fish northerns. Right as we’re getting the boat in, we see a log type thing on the shoreline. Upon further inspection, it is actually a big, dead fish – and a muskie, no less. This, in a ten acre pond never stocked with them at all. Very odd, 41″ fish too.
Congrats, nice fish!! I got a couple of tigers here in Wisconsin this winter, wonder if it’s the northern in them coming through. None nearly as big as that though, good fish!
I fish lots of tip ups for northerns, and we get plenty of fish in the mid-30″ class, but I’d love to go to LOTW and fish true trophies late ice. Checking off whitefish this weekend!
What a time to be alive.
Dubnyk is 6-1 since coming to the Wild with 1.48 GAA and a .945% save percentage. Incredible. I looked at some other stats, it seems like for most of his career he has been a good goalie masked by awful teams (ie Edmonton). What a find for Fletch.
This is where it has to start for the Wild. Good, aggressive yet smart hockey. Keep it up boys.
I have a Frabill one, works pretty well. I run Fireline with a two lb flouro leader, very sensitive and strong enough for all panfish. I do sometimes have line twist troubles but I believe that that was the lure, not the reel.
Wild looked a little shaky at the end of the game, they looked like they were tring to play defense exclusively. Like the hustle at the end by Zucker, both in the diving clearing attempt and the empty netter. Carter had good energy too. Things may be looking up!
How about England Dan and John Ford Coley – “I’d Really love to See You Tonight”?
Actual – “I’m not talkin bout movin in”
Misheard – “I’m not talkin bout the linen”
Sorry for your loss, but enjoy your fishing trip and cherish the memories!
Sorry for your loss man! I know its hard, but try to remember all of the good times you shared. He sounds like he was a great friend.
