For any and all Grindstone questions feel free to send me a message guys. I fish that lake all the time.

I do windshield removal from time to time so I use a putty knife on a hammer drill. But heat will be your friend. Not direct contact though but enough to loosen it a bit

Slab rap earlier in the year. Rattling flyer has been pretty good and buck shots. Caught a few on JB big boy in gold last weekend.

Actually picked up a red glow flyer yesterday morning. They came up to all my usual jig but then went back down. I gave the flyer a try and as soon as it hit the bottom I hooked into a 29″ walleye. Maybe a coincidence maybe not either way I’m convinced with them

I have several co-workers that fish it often, and as 396ranger low results as well.

Same results for lakers but awesome results for rainbows

Yes usually try for lakers. Last year was bad for me (0) but this year I got a 26″ which was a stocked one (missing a fin). It is a hard lake to fish and the ice can be a little iffy. The lake takes a long time to freeze since it is so deep so be careful. A couple weekends ago I had 12-14″ of ice but the warm temps can’t be that great for the ice now. I’ve put a lot of time in fishing the lake with low results so good luck

Plus if you’re on the East side you can have a foot of ice where you’re at move 50 yards and have 3/4 of an inch there. My advice stay away from the east side when out there unless you know where the springs are at

It is worth buying a few rippin raps and slab raps to throw in the mix.

You don’t have to it’s really all in a manner of perspective. I like the rippin’ raps for a few different reasons. One is when the bite is real good on a lake I find it more fun to fish them. The other is if you aren’t really seeing anything down there with your typical spoon and minnow presentation a rippin’ rap lets a fish be able to find your bait from a further distance away than the said spoon would. If the fish are being finicky I usually being them in with the rippin’ rap and have a dead stick with a minnow down another hole. Most of the time the fish will take the minnow then. Without using the rippin’ rap I’m sure that the fish never would have seen the bait and would have taken off elsewhere. Hope this helps )

On the North side of the reef more towards the east there is a part of the reef that jets out. It almost looks like a boot. I fish in the middle of it. 27 feet of water. Midday bite was one fish about every 30 minutes too with a lull between noon and 3.
