As I grew up I was introduced to the outdoor industry by my mother, father, grandparents, and two older brother. I’ve always had a passion for hard water fishing more than anything though.  I remember my father telling me growing up stories about when I was a toddler that I would hook a fish and then run across the lake (not realizing how to operate a hand over hand ice fishing pole). I went to Mora High School growing up. Graduated in 2014. Then went on to take on a law enforcement degree in Hibbing, MN. All the while getting the opportunity to fish new lakes and sometimes new species. While growing up my favorite species to target were sunfish and crappies. ( It was only a mile walk to the lake pulling the fishhouse down the road). As I got older I got a larger interest in walleye fishing once I got my license to drive and being able to get to lakes that were out of reach to me as a kid. My favorite fish to catch will always be lake trout though. As I spent time with my father on Grindstone near Sandstone, MN every winter. Now as my father had a stroke in March of 2015 I no longer fish with him as much as he is paralyzed on his right side of his body. The only thing that I thought would be the right thing to do would be to share with people what he has taught me over the years I fished with him and learn a few tricks along the way.
