Most grocery store employees get paid pretty well. I know a couple of people that started at Hy-Vee at $15 an hour. Plus Hy-Vee is employee owned so they get profit sharing too. Cub Foods is a union job and you get paid quite well + pension. My childhood neighbor worked there 30+ years. Working in grocery is a pretty nice gig.

I forgot Steve Demars. Is he still on here? He was very innovative with catfish tactics and I spent a few nights on his pontoon.
I know for sure that Steve is still around because he’s my dad! He has just been a little quiet lately because he has been working on some top secret stuff over the winter.
February 7, 2020 at 7:37 am #1913270That’s a cool little rig. Congrats, it will be a perfect little puddle jumper boat.
January 10, 2020 at 1:26 pm #1905121I measured 11 inches on lake jane last weekend. Saw a minivan out on Demontreville yesterday.
January 4, 2020 at 11:50 am #1903331Thanks for the links Denny! I just bought my first networked boat and this we be a lot of help to me.
December 28, 2019 at 5:37 pm #1901260When I looked at the update on the humminbird website it looked like it was pertaining to 360 imaging. I’m going to leave my unit alone for now.
December 28, 2019 at 4:06 pm #1901234I just bought a 2020 Alumacraft Escape 165 tiller in the khaki color (camo). They are rigging it as we speak. Probably pick it up sometime in the next couple of weeks.
December 27, 2019 at 6:11 pm #1900983I have Boating HD Marine and Lakes. It will work well for what you want to do.
December 18, 2019 at 6:32 pm #1899190The best place to access would be Lakeside Park in Bayport. It would be a really long walk up to where you want to get to though. Not sure if it’s safe for an ATV yet but its gotta be getting close. Lots of good fishing straight across from Lakeside on the Wisconsin side of the river if you don’t want to hoof it that far.
December 17, 2019 at 6:53 am #1898647I have a hub already. In the market for a shack thats run and gun.
Gotcha. I would stick with a cottage then. Or, take a look at the Frabill Aegis. It’s a small 2 man or big one man house. I almost got one but bought the cottage instead. I have no regrets with buying my cottage. If something happened to it I would buy another one.
December 16, 2019 at 5:52 pm #1898557I would be really surprised if you could get a cabin into an Escape. I doubt you would be able to close the hatch. I’d stick with a cottage. Maybe you should get a hub house?
December 15, 2019 at 11:54 am #1898139Fleet Farm has them for $599. I bought one last year and love it. It’s an awesome little house. Gets crazy hot with a Mr Heater Buddy.
December 11, 2019 at 5:20 pm #1897143my vote is white bear by the boat launch. seems to happen every year
Good vote! Every year someone donates a vehicle at that spot!
December 7, 2019 at 12:50 pm #1896027Stone Soup thrift in St Paul Park is a good option. Yes, it is a thrift store, but they give vouchers to individuals that are struggling financially. I used to take people there a lot when I was a caseworker. Valley Outreach in Stillwater has a clothing closet too, but that might be kind of far for you. Also, you could always do a google search for “clothing closets” close to the area you live. A lot of churches have clothing closets for folks that are in need.
December 6, 2019 at 11:10 am #1895831If you can, please donate them to a homeless shelter! I am a county social worker and spent a number of years working with persons who were experiencing homelessness. It was always the bigger guys that we struggled to get shoes and boots for.
December 1, 2019 at 2:07 pm #1894569I have an x-over cottage. It was really tight too. On mine I really had to play around with the positioning of the velcro straps that hold the canvas on. Just keep messing around with it. You will eventually get it to a point that everything works as it should.

Another fun thing: going on on foot dragging a portable and getting the bottom of the shack wet. Snow sticks and freezes to the bottom of the sled like glue and you’ll be amazed at the amount of friction snow on snow creates. Can be a lonnnngggg walk back to shore dragging a shack back that went through some slush.
Tucker
X2. My plan for this week is building a smitty sled.
You should do a video of your sled. I’ve been considering building one too.
November 19, 2019 at 7:01 pm #1892042If you haven’t seen this episode of IDO check it out. It shows exactly how to do it. Super easy and an absolute blast when you catch one. Just make sure to reel up your other lines or you will regret it! They get tangled up in everything on the way up!
November 19, 2019 at 6:59 pm #1892040What is the preferred distance to set baits above bottom for Sturgeon?
Set your baits right on the bottom.
November 11, 2019 at 10:17 am #1890244Most of the accesories are pretty interchangeable clam, otter, frabill, etc. I would highly recommend the light kit from otter.
October 30, 2019 at 9:32 am #1887826I’m with Frydog and Mahtofire. The Neko rig absolutely slays them. I would have never tried it if you two weren’t talking about it on here or posting about it on YouTube. Thanks for teaching me something new!
October 25, 2019 at 9:06 pm #1886999When my dog was 6 months old I paid over $3k for a surgery. My dog is now 11 years old. Trust me, you won’t regret helping her and getting the surgery. You would have regretted putting her down and having to explain it to your children. Get the surgery done and sleep well knowing you did the right thing.
October 24, 2019 at 9:18 am #1886652You could always do a nice snap cover too. That, along with having it under the canopy and you would be well protected. Plus it’s a good excuse to buy a nice snap cover!
October 22, 2019 at 7:30 pm #1886272‘ya know Dean, you and your team would make it easier on people up there if you would just pick up an Alumacraft franchise,,,,
Just sayin’, HRG
[/quote]I had the same thoughts exactly regarding Dean. I too wish he was an Alumacraft dealer. Thanks everyone for your advice. I am really considering making a purchase before the boat show after reading all of these replies.
October 22, 2019 at 4:28 pm #1886238Whats more important finding a better deal or owning a boat? Personally I would choose the boat.
Well considering the time of year I am more inclined to look for a deal. I already have a boat to fish out of and am looking to purchase a new boat for future seasons.
October 16, 2019 at 6:08 pm #1885243Thanks for all the replies guys. I just came home from Fleet Farm with the M18. Hard to beat $100 off. If anybody else is interested in this deal it ends this Saturday.
October 16, 2019 at 12:57 pm #1885190Same issue here. Hope they get ot fixed. Gotta gave my IDI fix during lunch.
