As far as no cull goes I fish as a co angler. I disagree with the no cull. I know that people do cull. I feel comfortable with the don’t ask don’t tell policy but when the tournament director specifically brings up the no cull at the meeting I feel it should be followed. I realize that it is hard to enforce but I will tell you that it is not a fair playing field when some do not follow the directors instruction. If it is brought up in the boat I do not know what stance to take.

I had to back out of the last one. I see that by the turn out that many of my fellow fisherman also backed out. Was it the rules? Bad prefishing? Distance? Added cost because of the hi priced area?

My prayers and thoughts go out to Rudy’s family. Although I only knew Rudy through fishing the BFL I followed his success and admired his ability. This is a reminder on how precious life is and that it is important to keep in focus on what is really important. Work hard and play hard. Enjoy every moment.

I went to the weigh in in Lansing. 20+ lb sack. WOW great job guys. Lots of big fish came in. Even if you do not fish in a tournament but like to fish. Check out a weigh in. Some of these guys really do know what they are doing.

We fished Monday morning the flats near Ferryville and caught a half dozen nice perch in the morning with barrel sinkers, small hook and night crawler off the bottem. what other technique should we try to increase the numbers?

Are you all making me feel bad about posting the picture. I am sorry for offending some of you. Maybe we should start up a petition and submit it to the proper authorities to get the river shut down until all the different species are done spawning. It seems like the only solution. Many of you seen holier than thou and have quite the opinion for not even knowing the whole story. It was a nice fish and I thought you would all enjoy. A far as the way he is holding it, he is an old salt who grew up on the river and knows how much it hurts if you get your hand in their mouth. You can bet that that fish went in the deep fryer. By the way Bob can make a sheep head taste better than walleye.

I love to take kids fishing. This picture was taken on a cold October morning. It started out foggy and we had to go very slowly out to one of my best wing dams. My nephew was so cold he was lying in the bottom of the boat but did not complain. The next thing you know the shad started to break the surface. The gulls came in and the white bass started to hit every thing we threw at them. It was like the fish were jumping in the boat. My nephew is hooked and will never forget the day nor will I!

Called len on Friday at the Rock. He said come on down. The river was free of Ice from the launch to the dam. Caught a limit of small Sauger with Marina Bob. Great day to fish and with the warm weather coming this week should be better for a while. Besure to call the Falling Rock for last minute updates.
