Hammocks are awesome. Nicely done! Congrats. I can honestly say I’ve liked every crestliner I have fished out of.

When using rope and not electric, always have knife ready as stated for trees and icebergs coming down the shoot. 👍🎣

Yeah temps right close to freezing Friday
Fish were stacked in the sand drifts on the Wisconsin side ~20′ up near dam. If I was fishing eyes…

Must have had a killer sheephead bite going. Totally understand. 😉

When it rains it pours, it will be a good story down the road when things get better. What is the purpose of this run and gun? Looks like a killer smoker! 😉

All of the fish we cleaned Friday were absolutely loaded with 3-4 inch shad.

Hey mike, bout 8 boats out Friday, prob 20-25 Saturday. My boat had to work pretty hard for our fish both days, but I would consider the bite ok. 👍😉

Have a blast, but be very cautious on high water years. 👍 I’ve heard horror stories of water levels dropping and ice remaining in same place for a while, anglers walking out drilling their first hole and finding air between the ice and water.

The boys love to fish, and do a pretty darn good job catchin’ em!👍😉. I’ve had my butt reemed by Dnr for same situation “can see all things just fine, very well paying attention, but not quite legal light by the book.” I now have lights in even when I’m likely in the clear, I owe that to other boaters, even if I completely know what I’m doing. But I’m not gonna bust these boys balls on it, ethical sportsman out there absolutely lovin every second of it.

Until you get a boat bill, cut your river teeth on some of the fishing floats located near a few lock and dams. Watch the old boys close.👍🎣. Pitch your brains out, hair, blades, plastics, cross current, into current, dragging against current, deadstick bait of many sorts. River fish are thier own beast. Keep after em, the challenge is what makes it meaningful. Don’t fool yourself either- even the best anglers have rough days out there.

Hmmm. I thought it was considered “unlawful” to release any fish that has been placed in livewell. Any CO’s wanna chime in here?

You can catch as many fish as you want, you just can’t keep over your limit so it’s catch and release after that or catch and cull.

Culling is illegal. While on the water, if you want to keep fishing, I believe you have to stay short of the party you are fishing with total possession limit. Once final legal in the boat, you are done for the day. If possession limit is reached day 1 of trip, you can catch and release the next day. Correct me of I am wrong, but this is what I have been told.

Thanks, appreciate the intell. I think you are right, for that presentation, the only way to be able to trust your rod and drag would be with metal, because you need tight drag to get the hooks in, and correct rod to keep em buttoned.

Great show, congrats! Can I ask what kind of rod holders you were using. I’ve worried about snapping elevated rod holders, I noticed yours would give to the back after fish would bite. Mostly a walleye guy but dabble with skis and I have never seen a holder like that.👍

Each lake will have particular colors that seem to shine, and it may change each year depending on clarity. Clean water= purples, blues, whites, blacks, browns, dirty reds, pinks, clear transluscents, and sometimes chartreuse shades. Green/algae bloom water=orange, chartreuse, purple chromes, blue chromes, depending on sunlight, and straight up blue.
Dirty water/stained= purples, blacks, orange, bright reds, pinks, chartreuse, golds, holographics that pick up sunlight. 👍🎣
