No need to move, just go to Holiday. They have a Spam taquito for breakfast now.

I also did not get a WI turkey permit. I did get a preferance point like your daughter. This is the first time this has happened to me. I put in for zone 1 period a and b. Good thing I will be able to get an over the counter tag.

I fished the float on Tuesday. In the AM I caught a few smallmouth, a couple short walleyes & a 49″ sturgeon. With the clouds and rain in the PM I got a few sauger and bluegills. The water is very clear right now and the shiner minnows are thick around the float. Some channel cats were being caught on the deep end. Good luck

There was an article in todays(12/11) Eau Claire Leader Telegram about this bear. It says the bear “had excavated a depression about 1.5 ft deep where it apparently had planned to spend the winter.” A standing corn field would provide a fair amount of cover I suppose. The DNR sold the bear to the Schlough’s for $75.

Hey CatchnRelease, check the regs again. Mine say Chippewa County trolling is not permitted county wide but is in Rusk County. You are ok on Holcombe and tribs up to the first bridge.

Fished pool 5 again on Monday. I brought a friend this time but the fishing was not as good as last week. We fished all day, 12 hours, and managed 3 legal eyes. Plenty of small sauger were caught and we kept 4 over 15″. Location was current seams in 4′ to 8′ of water. Not as many bass as last time and we could hardly buy a fish on a leech, crawler or minnow best.

I have caught 2 brown trout in pool 5 before. One was 15″ or so and the other was 11″. It is very surprising when you pull one of them up in the Miss.

Thanks for the welcome, Dartman. I fished Long again Thursday night. I thought with the full moon fishing might be hot, but it was only ok. I caught 5 walleyes, all under the slot, 2 smallmouth, 1 16 incher and a rock bass. All on rapalas after dark again.
