I have caught some nice walleyes in the past… biggest 27″. In the spring time there are alot of nice eater size fish to be had! lots of fun! Just haven’t been able to find them in the winter, caught one in six feet of water on a tip up. I might try there in the morning. I dont have a portable at the moment because of all my gear being stolen last season. I will just be up early and im going to drill a bunch of holes in shallow water and give it a try.

February 8, 2012 at 1:45 am #1036501Thanks everyone for your input! I will definitely get it mounted on fire open water and try it out! Can’t go wrong! Figure I can at least use it for vertical jigging for those christmas trees of crappies! Anymore tips or suggestions would be great! Thanks again guys!
February 2, 2012 at 5:01 pm #1034668I also recently just tried the new Jiffy Pro 4. Nicest auger I have ever layed my hands on! Cuts extremely fast and in my opinion much more reliable and convienent than any other auger on the market! One pull every time! Make sure you are always leaving this auger with the spark plug up though because of the 4 Stroke operation which recquires engine oil! I will definitely be purchasing one of these for next season! Good fishing!
