A couple years ago I pulled into a launch on Osakis and noticed a horse tied up to a tree with a small home made trailer attached to a buggy. The owner and his son were paddling back in as we arrived so we waited a few minutes to watch them load their boat. It was pretty interesting to watch and not something you see everyday!

You have it made up there on Leech, Bob! I’d trade places with you in a heartbeat!

I found a bag like that in the freezer not to long ago. My in-laws are always asking for “fresh” fish so….I gave it to them, they are still alive, and they said it was great!

They are pretty simple to use and it shouldn’t take you long to learn how to use one. I would recommend watching a short instructional video and the link below should direct you to the page. After using one, it will be tough to go fishing without one! Good luck!

So he went from a “wannabe” to a “super wannabe”?! I’m only kidding as I was once a reserve myself for a good number of years. Had a lot of fun and learned quite a bit during my time with them. We had le students and people that just wanted to give back to their community on our reserve program. Congrats to your brother on the promotion!

Exactly why I’ve mostly stopped shopping there. My kids like going there to look at the fish and mounts, but most of my money is spent elsewhere now. If they change it back to what it was a couple years ago, I’ll start spending my money there again.

A few years ago, I was told by one of their sales associates that a certain rod company had an over the counter exchange policy on them. From that point on, until May of this year, I purchased that brand rod only, thinking that if I broke one, I wouldn’t have an issue making an exchange, especially at the store I purchased it from. Well, one of the rods broke so I bring it back only to find out they no longer do the over the counter exchanges unless it was within 90 days of purchase. Took the rod (and exchaged it over the counter) and my business elsewhere.

Hunters Point Resort on the east side is in my opinion the best resort on the lake. It is centrally located on the east side of the lake. They have everything you need on site, launch, protected harbor, nice cabins, restaurant and bar. They also have a great staff.

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis Chris. The power of prayer is an amazing thing and you have a lot of people praying for you already! Trust in the Lord to guide you through this!

I’ll have to give another vote to the tiller. Tillers give you a lot more space, especially with the size boat you are wanting. They are easier to control and you don’t have to move when you get to your spot. Grab a rod and you’re set! You will stay dryer in a console, but that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to take. Get yourself a good rain suit and you will stay dry for the most part.

I am pumped to go down and watch a game in the new stadium. It should be fun. From what I’ve seen, it’s a first class stadium. The ticket office was crazy yesterday. I spent a couple hours online trying to get a few tickets and finally gave up and started dialing the phone. It took me about 30 minutes to get through and I got the tickets I was hoping to get. As far as buying Twins gear, I think I’ll be shopping elsewhere! Should be a fun year not only with the stadium, but the team looks pretty darn good too!

We even had some small hail here in Becker!! That was a little surprising. Not big enough to do any damage thankfully.

I don’t think they should let Favre influence who they draft. If he does come back this year, it will almost certainly be his last year.

I use Jason mitchell’s 8′ telescopic rod. It was designed specifically for corking. It has a medium action with a fairly soft, fast tip. It also has markings on it every foot for making precise adjustments and large guides to help prevent the bobber stop from hanging up when casting and reeling in. I really like them and for $85, you can’t go wrong!

We’ve probably all been there, the couch that is! I made the mistake of showing her my collection of 600+ crankbaits while I had them all out on 3 tables in the basement organizing. All she did was ask how much each one cost. I told her they probably average $5.00 a piece and she turned and walked away. That was last year. I’ve probably bought another 100 since then! I’ll be honest here. I might have an addiction!

I use the swim tubes as well. I have 3 of them that I store in a Plano box and keep them in a storage compartment out of the sun. Works great.

S&W Bait in Brainerd has them. Just picked up a few dozen tonight. They had a good supply.

My girlfriend used to fish with me, which I loved. She would go every chance she could, rain or shine. Now that we are married, she goes about once or twice a year. It has to be 85 degrees, sunny, with no wind so she can work on her tan. I don’t typically do very well when she’s with anymore!

Just go and do the explaining later! She’ll get over it.

I would never give any personal information or credit card information out to anyone over the phone in a situation like this. IMO, you did the correct thing. That company should know better than to be doing this if it was really legit.

I think the cops did everything they are trained to do in this situation. The officer was giving commands, suspect was not complying. They gave him plenty of time and opportunity to obey the orders given before the initial taze. You could also hear the officers yelling at the suspect to “stop resisting”. If this guy would have obeyed their commands he would never have been tazed in the first place. Suspect in custody, nobody got hurt that we could see, and everyone went home safe. This guy shouldn’t get a dime!

I also have the bibs and jacket and love them both. I can honestly say I’ve never been cold wearing them and I’ve fished outside in some wicked weather! The pads in the knee are very nice and the jacket has more than enough pockets. It is a good investment and will last a long time.

    Timmy,

I really like it when faced with a math argument. Let’s just say I run 6 at a time. I start a couple hours before dark and go to midnight. Lets figure 8 hours per fishing trip (I often go longer). That is 48 hours per trip of lighting. I can hope to get 40 hours per bobber from these new ones. I’ll believe the 70 hours when I see it. When my current setups go they get dim to the point you can’t see them but they could still be called on. I am sure I could kill 6 bobbers every week if I was fishing every night. If the bite is on, so be it.

Wow, I’m jealous at the amount of time you have to spend on the water!! That’s the life I want!

This cold weather and snow is just a tease of what’s to come! This is Minnesota! I wouldn’t bet on this cold weather to stay for good. I would guess we still have some warm days ahead. At least I hope! Fall is my favorite season and we’ve been robbed of it so far!
