Bought a Shark Z71 about a month ago. If I knew there was a auger on the market that cut like that, I would have bought one years ago. Thought my buddys solo was nice. But I can cut two holes to his one . Took the 10″ auger off and replaced it with the 8″ and the thing really rips. Like to use 8″ auger for round tip ups and when little grand kids are around. Best auger I have ever owned.

Great Show. Nice crappies. Hope they make it. Have spent a lot of time over the years catching crappies in deep water. Even if you fizz them, the still may not make it. Thats why its mostly a catch and keep fishery. Hope those fish didnt become turtle food.

The 30-30 and the .243 are great guns, but the safer of the two is the .243. The 30-30 hammer may be a tricky thing for a young hunter to manage. Ive put an extention on mine to make it a little easier, but if your not careful , your finger could still slip. A bolt action much safer.

I usually use a higher fat content beef burger and mix it 50/50 with the venison. Reason I dont like to use pork because the freezer life compared to beef is much less. I also grind the venison first, and then regrind the venison with the burger. This makes for a very thorough mix.

I dont see why it wouldnt work. I’ve caught many eyes on Mille Lacs trolling a 3 oz. bottom bouncer with a original rapala floater with a 8-12 ft. leader in 30+ feet of water, trolled at about 1.5 to 1.8 mph. Sometimes you have to think out of the box!

Shooting the fish ducks isnt the only reason for the comeback of the walleye population on Leech, alot has to do with the fact that they were stocking 10 million walleye a year there for at least a couple of years. I think they are still stocking quite a few, but I dont remember the numbers.

Culling is illegal but if I catch a 19inch fish by law on MIlle Lacs right now I would have to let it go. How many fish die on Winnebago? They have dozens of tournaments there every year. Why doesnt anybody talk about that? And there is always alot in August when the water is the warmest. So if I bring 5 fish to the scales and 1 or 2 die, how many would die if I were to handle 15 to 30 and let them go?

Keep in mind that it is very important to keep those fish alive in a FLW tournament. With winning sometimes only decided by mere ounces, every non releasable fish brought to scale deducts a half pound off your weight. 5 fish = 2.5 pounds. That could cost a guy 65K. So dont be so naive to think we dont care about our fish after they are in the livewell.

What people fail to realize is the tournaments on Lake Erie are kill tournaments. In case you dont know what that means is that every fish weighed in will be dead. The only only differance on Erie is the average fish is 7lbs. not 4lbs. like on Green Bay. Even with Aim tourneys there will be mortality. Plus the fact that you can fish all day and sort through dozens of fish, not being limited to no cull, the mortality rate could be quite high also. 80+ degree water temp is bad for fish no matter where you go. I know guys that wont even fish muskies now because they are worried about mortality. I live on Mille Lacs and even though you have to release every fish between 18 and 28 inches right now, there still is quite a bit of dead fish out there. I dont think it matter what concept you use, you are going to have dead fish either way. The only way to prevent this is to not have tourneys when the water is this warm. Using AIM concept wont make alot of difference.

Had nothing to due with State or County pulling people over. The people running the place had a huge ballon payment due and couldnt come up with the dough. Rumor has it the place can be had for 200K. Drive by it every day. Seems like it pulls in quite a few people.

Depending on lake conditions I can get down to .7 on forward troll and .4 backtrolling. I have a 2007 9.9 Johnson 4 stroke. Sounds like you need to idle yours down . Right next to the carb there is an adjustment screw, small phillips. Real easy to adjust.

I find it hard to believe there are starter issues when it only takes a tap of the key to start the ones I have had. Were they 150’s.

I am on my 3rd 150 E-tec with a tiller handle. I just had my 1st issue last week. My trim motor quit with the motor all the way up in the middle of Mille Lacs. Thank God for the 9.9 Johnson kicker on the back! Has always started well in fact when I pull my boat out of storage every spring, I have never pre started before going to the lake because they always fire right up. Did you check bulb pressure? When you turn your key on does it go through the check mode? Try turning your key on and wait 10 seconds before cranking. Hope this helps.

Seem to be about 10 degrees less than normal for this time of year. Hard to predict what they will be 3 weeks from now, but we are probably 2 to 3 weeks behind a normal year. Fish are always around and biting at any water temp, its just that the methods to produce lots of fish will change.

That’s a hard question to answer. Having just spending 10 days on Leech for an FLW tourny, it would be a great pick. So would LOTW and Rainy. But overall, Mille Lacs cant be beat. You can catch fish anywhere on the lake by lots of methods, and no matter how windy, you can find a bite somewhere on any side of the lake. Also you have the choice of relaxing and taking out a launch for around 30.00. Also has world class smallmouth fishery. Much closer to Iowa than some of the other super walleye lakes we are blessed with in the state of Minnesota. We dont have great sport teams, just great walleye fishing.

Thats the beauty of living next to Mille Lacs, you dont have to join the boat parade, you just have to drive a ton of miles the other days to get to work!

Yes, I drilled new holes in the terrova aluminum base plate. Dont remember how far I offset it . Dont think it was more than an inch or two. Also turned plate around. Puck is closer to one end than other. Used existing holes in MKA plate. Will be home in an hour or two. PM me with phone # and I can measure when I get home at 2:30 if you like.

Just had the same issue on my 620T using the MKA-21 kwik release mount. What I did was mount the motor plate farther back. Needed to drill new holes. That will let the puck set farther back on the bow. Real easy to do.

I believe the puck needs to be mounted flat or horizontal for the gps to work correctly.

You dont have to spend the money for the down scan because it will not work with your US2 transducer on your terrova.

He was buried at sea in accordance to Islamic and Muslim tradition. We wouldnt want to offend their traditions now would we?

Is he really dead? They buried him at sea? I would have liked to have seen him hung up and beat like a pinata for Cinco De Mayo!

When I lived in Baudette in the late 70s, the owner of the Wig Wam by the name of Trabant, had a 14lb. 12oz. on the wall that he had caught ice fishing. From what I can remember, it was impresive.
